I'm glad that you like it! It was a very difficult time for me, right in the middle of a burn-out, trying to do everything right for everyone. It was the first time that it felt like a struggle to do something good, as I was so exhausted. If I remember correctly, that piece went for $50 in an facebook-auction that I was hosting. In total, we raised around $350 for the team.
Besides that, it's something we implemented called "Be the Artist" - you can come to the facility, paint your own cloths, and have the seamstresses make something beautiful out of it. It's more of an experience and learning about all the effort and techniques to create those unique pieces than about creating your own perfect dress, but it is certainly possible - though after a 3-month-internship I guess. Painting for clothing so way more complicated than I ever imagined :-D
https://nuevosol.co/ is the website, if you want to check it out. It's under reformation, as the owner recently died and her husband, my girlfriend and her brother are working on restructuring everything considering the vision the owner had. Anyway, if you ever come down to Ecuador - it's absolutely a place to check out, very unique and beautiful.
oh, there are some pretty dresses on the NuevoSol website! Love the "About" section, too, showing in detail how things are some in a fair and sustainable manner! Kudos! ❤️
It's a wonderful project! I quite the consulting job a year ago, as my daughter moved in with me and that is a overtime-job in itself 😅 But my girlfriend and her brother still work there, and there's a lot going on. And I still wear their clothes any chance I get 😊
