Perfection Is An Illusion

The mindset of a perfect world, a perfect person remains an illusion to me. Most people strive for perfection; this striving makes them work hard, go the extra mile, and ensure that they live up to their standards. However, I don’t think this ever happens. When I read the book “Why You Act the Way You Do by Tim LaHaye” I came across a personality that wants to be perfect, I think that’s the closest thing to perfection.

As the prompt describes, it's a perfect world, if it is one where there’s no illness, hunger, or poverty, and every world leader genuinely cares about their people. A perfect world is a world where there are no worries. Obviously, we have everything at our beck and call. Living in such a world I do not think there’s a need for individual growth.

Individual growth arises from a case of trying to be a better person, trying to achieve things that will make you live comfortably. Growth emerges from obstacles, troubles, pain, and a lot more. Trust me when I say that perfection does not bear growth. If everything in the world works out so well, what will push us to grow? There are no motivations to grow. Living in a perfect world is living in a world where we are all lazy, no effort to achieve anything because everything is present and going smoothly.

With reference to the prompt, “-As kids, we’re raised to learn how to deal with life’s situations, and obstacles that come our way. But when we live in a perfect world without obstacles, do we really need growth?” Growth becomes unnecessary in the absence of challenges. Let’s picture this, imagine a kid living in a perfect world and a kid living in a world that’s not perfect, which do you think will have to work hard to achieve anything? Obviously, the latter.

As children, we were told we needed to go to school, learn, and become something great in the future, in other words we were sent to school so we would grow and start fending for ourselves, grow and start looking for jobs, grow and start solving problems. I do not think that if we were living in a perfect world there would be any problem to solve, cause it’s not a perfect world if there are problems and obstacles in it.

I think a perfect world can not accommodate an iota of growth because it has all it ever needs. For the last question - “Or was this world never meant to be perfect to begin with” I think the idea of perfection differs for most people, some will say according to the Bible, “we are brought into a perfect world until sin came in” another person will say based on Aristocratic beliefs, etc they have a separate view. For me, I think perfection is an illusion and the world was never meant to be perfect to begin with. We all strive for perfection, but my own perception of perfection could differ from the next man’s perception.

In my perspective I think perfection will just bring about the end of the human race because if we don’t innovate, we become obsolete and die

When everything is offered to us on a platter of gold, we tend not to want to do anything for ourselves or even the world we live in.

That’s true, no sign of growth.

If a perfect world stops growth, then I don't think it is still perfect. Growth is naturally inbuilt in man.
