Almost A Hit
If there is one thing I always love doing is going on car trips, I find it fun looking outside the window the air that comes with it is soothing and I love every bit of it. I have gone on several car rides and definitely as a passenger. I do not know how to drive though but hopefully, I learn this year when I am back home as my friend promise to teach me since he has a car. I wonder why he isn’t scared of me bashing his car but well I am open to learning new things this year.
On this day, I and my friends had plans to go over to the beach to have some fun since it’s been a while. Well, one of them has a car so we drove down to the beach with his car instead of using public transport.
We made preparations in advance since it was a beach picnic setting and the beach was far from where we resided. We decided to leave on time.
I sat in front so I could capture different views. We started our trip but then my friend kept driving fast. We were all begging him to slow down a bit, “I do not want to die on this trip please” I said to him several times but he thought it was cool and would slow down then increase it again. This was scary honestly because I kept praying and shouting at him. The others became tired of complaining and just had to let him since it was his car. Not me though as from time to time, I still tell him to slow down.
There was a turn, and every driver was supposed to slow down at every turn, but not this boy as he was on speed not like we were in a hurry to get to the location of the beach. We had zero idea that another car was coming towards us as well, I don’t know how he was able to divert or the other driver was able to divert but I could remember I screamed and when I opened my eyes, everyone was panting. The other car had to stop and the driver came towards our car to check if we were okay. Thank goodness we were.
I lost interest in the beach and I just wanted to go home because I was scared that something could happen to us on this trip to the beach. The only thing that made me continue with the car trip was that we were close to the beach. When we got to the beach, I had to drink water and eat first because that car incident was an unforgettable one. I was still in shock. According to my friend “Thank goodness the other driver was careful because if he was driving at the same speed my friend was driving both cars would have collided.”
We had fun at the beach and when it was time to go back we kept begging our friend to please take it easy and drive slowly. I think he was also sacred because he kept asking if anyone wanted to drive. Finally, he drove and we got home safely. That was my worst car trip. During other times I take road trips I see accidents on the road but I have never been involved so this was one that I was involved in.
Yes, I would love to experience a car trip again but I would not want to experience this kind of car trip again. That night the whole situation was replaying back in my head. It took a while to get over it so I would never want to have that experience again.

We all have this one crazy person amidst out set of friends who's driving is always speedy😂and it can be so funny how we all keep begging so we don't end up losing our dear life😂.
Thank God you weren't hurt and I'm sure you did had a nice time at the beach
Honestly, he’s the crazy friend in the friends group.
I really had a great time though. Thank you ☺️
Thank goodness you guys came out unharmed. I can only imagine how scared you were.
Thank you ☺️
That was crazy indeed! Too much speed almost never happen without stories, I still don't understand why people enjoy speed even when they are not in a hurry.
Thank goodness you guys got there safely, I believe going back was much careful.
He was much slow when we were on our way back😂😂
Thanks for stopping by
I have a friend that whenever he drives others he always keeps the windows up. He always says that keeping the windows up lets his passengers not detect how fast he's speeding. I don't really understand what he means but seriously it's true. You won't know he's speeding until you check the speedometer.
My last ride with him was crazy. Phew!
Crazy is the right word to describe these type of drivers 😂
That was an interesting recollection written very well. I have been in many such situations and an feel the panic you must have felt. In my case at times it has been on a two wheeler too. I think what happens is that the driver sometimes feels in control even when doing stuff erratically and we passengers can feel it even more than them. A friend of mine on the other hand is a very fast driver, but interestingly a very safe one. He says the three keys to his driving him is that he looks far into the distance and only drives fast when he can see at least 4-5 car lengths ahead, he is aware of his braking distance at every speed, and his driving is smooth without any jerks. He says that if you feel the pressure of a turn or of sudden braking it means the driver has to take a sudden change and that is not good. Hence he drives fast but you don't feel it cause in a funny way he drives fast within his limit. I guess that doing things within their limit is the key :)
Look here, I ended up writing a post. Today i seem to be reflective as all the good posts I am reading through #dreemport is making me remember stuff from my past :) Thanks for writing this. I am enjoying my first week of being #dreemerforlife.
Oh I’m glad you could finally find your way around Dreemport @brijwhiz
You friend is really a great driver and his tips are great to follow.
Thank you so much for stopping by, I really appreciate ☺️
Thank God you were okay, dear. I don't know whether your friend watched Fast and Furious or something but it's insensitive to want to do his antics while others were with him. At least there were no lives or properties lost. I hope you still love car trips regardless.
I still love car trips, just not his car trips 😂😂
Thank you for stopping by☺️
God is certainly watching over you. Numerous drivers exhibit complete recklessness. Instead of savoring life and being cautious, they drive furiously... whether to impress the opposite sex or simply to showcase themselves to the outside world. It's crucial to drive with care, considering others on the streets, whether in vehicles or as pedestrians. By doing so, we not only put in danger our lives and those of our companions but also the lives of others.
You’re right, I am really thankful to God that we came out safe it was really a close one
