Weird Foodie love.....CCH WK 15.

Food is one of the basic necessities of life.
Whether you eat to live or live to eat, the main fact still remains that food is important. As someone who likes food, I'm not a shy type when it comes to exploring new cuisines but who would have thought that I'd strike gold with a particular food combo.

I got to know of this particular weird food combo in the year 2018. A neighbour had jokingly suggested we eat that food combo and experience life. In her eyes, I was still a JJC when it comes to food.

Hmm, I sighed and took on the challenge as I never want to be known for carrying last at all. So I asked her to reveal the mysterious food combo that she wanted me to try out. When she finally revealed the food combo, my jaw fell open as wide as a car boot.

”What the heck is that? You want me to eat Eba with cooked beans?......how gross”.

That was me yapping my mouth like an Australian babe. As if that food combo was akin to a time bomb. But that was how I felt literally when that neighbour of mine finished talking.

”Wait Becky, if you eat this food combo, you will fall in love?”

Since I already took the “dare”, I had no choice but to follow through with it. My neighbour did the honours of making the Eba (cassava flakes pudding) while I took a food flask to the nearest food vendor to buy some beans.

Do you guys know the funny part? Well it had to do with the fact that the beans should not be more than its water. So when I went to buy the cooked beans from a food vendor, I mentioned it to the woman that I needed more bean water and thankfully, she obligled me. Then she added some stew and I left after paying for the food.

I got back to find a plate of steaming hot eba staring at me with bombastic side eye but I was unmoved. Then I handed the plate of beans to my neighbour to see what she would do with it but to my surprise,she simply sat on one end of the only available bench and right before my eyes, she began to commit the same crime that made Bright Chimezie shout ”Police eh” in one of his songs.

I watched closely as she cut a sizeable portion of the eba, rolled it into a ball with her fingers and dipped it into the plate of watery beans like that before it went into her mouth…..chai, my intestines almost came out of my body to do a backflip.

But the way she was licking both her lips and fingers attracted me, so I sat down opposite her to do what she did and the taste was great. It was like eating bean soup with little meatballs in it. I enjoyed that weird combo food so much that anytime I don't have soup at home, buying that watery beans would suffice in eating my eba for a good meal.

To the ears, this food combo sounds weird but to my taste buds and stomach, it sounds—fantastic.
