What do I see?

I see a large old building. It is wearing out probably due to age . Therw are a few vintage cars parked in front of it and many people passing by the building

What do I feel?

I feel like the house hold memeories of many generations waiting to be told. Though abadoned, there's hope for it if attention is paid to the building.

Story

"This is the last year to claim your great grandfather's will and do as he says or the estate would be taken over by the government and it would leave your family... forever". Those were the precise words written in the letter that was delivered to Catherine two days ago.

Looking at the stamp, the letter was from her home town, Spring County. A place she had not been to for the past 20 years. "What do thwy want me to do? I cannot possibly manage that huge estate by myself. Morever I'm a medical doctor now and not a wine maker like great grandpa"... Catherine thought after reading the letter for the tenth time.

She was looking for a leeway but none was forthcoming. She knew how her great grandpa cherished that place and how he took pride in knowing that his descendants would take after him but she refused and it caused a rift between her and her family. She thought she was safe until tragedy struck, claiming th lives of all her family members. She was the only surviving Fernando still alive. Great grandpa died some months after the tragedy claimed the lives of his family.

It would be a waste to let the building go. I think I'll finally fulfill the old man's wish. She placed a call to their family's law firm agreeing to meet in there days time. That gave her enough time to pack and take leave of absence from work.

Arriving at the agreed time with the lawyers, they all went into an office that had a view of the lake. Catherine, not wanting to waste more time than necessary asked the lawyer to "get down to business". As Catherine signed the ownership transfer papers, she suddenly asked "How much is the manor worth?"

One of the lawyers smiling answeed her. "It is worth five hundred million dollars". Her pen almost snapped from how tightly she held on to it. She ran out of their office and kept walking towards the estate. Standing in front of it, memories of the times she spent there as a child came flooding in. She could not hold back the small sobs that escaped her throat. Now it was clear what her great grandpa's legacy was and she would do all to keep his and every Fernando menory alive.

Thank you all for reading.

Such estates shouldn't be allowed to get into the hands of the government cos it would be gone forever. Since she's a doctor, she can turn the place to an ultra modern health center. I'm sure her great grandpa left some fortune for her in the bank too.

Catherine would be wiser to sustain the legacy of her grandpa, Fernando. I wish her well.

Someone who entered into conscience and honoured the memory of his ancestors. Not just anyone is still alive after listening to ‘500 million’, surely a heart attack.
