My preferred power source.

Power supply is a very essential requirement to everyday life. It is useful both as a tool of comfort and relaxation and for money making enterprises.

Over the years, there have been many developments and advancements in the area of electric power supply. From generators to solar inverters. These are modernized sources of power supply that complement the normal power supply where or when it is lacking.

So I believe that one's preference for which power supply source would be inclined on constancy, ** availability** and affordability. Another factor that can alter one's preference is power supply stability and regulatity.

Take my current residential area as an illustration. There are times when we stay for days and even weeks without power supply. Those who get to make use of power supply during those days of black out, are those who own generators or solar inverters.

As much as I like the idea of having constant and steady power supply through generators and solar, I still prefer normal power supply. This is because the current supplied is way better than that of solar and generators.

In terms of current supplied, solar has limits. Only those with big batteries can enjoy good current that would be able to power many gadgets and devices. The same goes for generators. If you want to enjoy optimum current, then you need a really big generator.

Secondly, normal power supply is eco-friendly. What I mean is that there is little to no form of air pollution emitted by it unlike when generators are used and the fumes from the generators cause air pollution.

Thirdly, there is also no noise pollution caused by normal power supply but when generators are used, the noise pollution caused is just terrible. Imagine an apartment building with ten tenants and each of these tenants owns a generator. Imagine that these ten tenants decide to put on their generators together because they want to relax, unwind and watch television with their families. Can you fathom how much noise will be emitted from all the generators combined? I tell you that it would be irritating to the ears.

I also prefer normal power supply because it is cost effective when compared to use of generators which requires buying fuel to get them running. Fuel in my country is now becoming gold. It is very expensive and because it is expensive buying fuel for generators, those who make use of generators for their businesses increase the cost of their services in order to make substantial profit.

This in turn affects the masses who now have to pay thrice the original amount for a service simply because generators were used.

As for solar, it is also eco-friendly and no pollution to the environment but according to what I have heard, solar panels can run out of juice and won't be able to supply electric power until it has been powered by either a generator or normal power supply.

Also, for solar to work at it's full capacity then bigger panels and batteries are required or else there will be a limit to what the solar can do and limit to certain functions. A guy in my area who runs a printing press recently bought a solar panel for 2.8 million naira. According to him, the solar was big enough to power his large printers.

This guy can afford it but what about those who cannot afford 2.8 million naira to purchase and install solar?

In conclusion, with normal power supply there are no restrictions on how many appliances and gadgets one can make use of at a time but with generators and solar, there might be some restrictions on how many appliances one can use at time.

All these and more make normal power supply my preferred choice. I only wish it were regular and stable.

You have good points here over this electricity saga. Looking at it closely, u will find out that our normal power supply is just the best, only if we can have it available and with stable. More affordable and without noise pollution, it can also power everything gadgets at home...i hope our country will get there one day...if so, No one will dream of alternative power supply

That's the food advantage of using solar power, it does not cause any harm to our environment.
