Loh #238....Me, Myself and Moi.

Travelling is a fun activity for me as it affords me the opportunity to see new places and things. I get to discover deep cultural heritages whenever I travel and visit places. Although travelling could feel burdensome in some ways, especially when passing through rough terrains or when faced with some hurdles on the way. All these are considered as part of the journey, helping us garner experience.

Do I like to travel solo?

Oh yes I do….very much.

I'm not against travelling with friends or family but my personality inches more to the introverted side and that makes travelling with people tiresome for me.

I recall travelling to Edo State with some friends from Lagos State. We were fifteen in number all in the same bus. We were going to attend a music conference which would last for three days.

While on the journey, my face was seen plastered to a novel that I carried along with me. I was busy reading. I barely participated in their conversations. I was even seated at an angle close to the window, where I knew that I wouldn't be disturbed by anyone.

Once in a while, I would chip in a comment or two especially when I was mentioned but for the most part of the trip, it was just me in my world. The same happened while we were returning back to Lagos State after the conference. I was always seen with a book or with my mp3 player listening to good music by the side.

Is solo travel “me time” or “boring”?

I consider travelling solo as a form of self care. It also serves a ME time as I get to do what I want to do without fear of being judged by others or discriminated against.

Travelling to places on my own might sound risky to some people but to me, it is adventurous. I get to scream my lungs out when I want. I get to eat when I want and eat what I want. I also get to sleep in or stay up late working with my phone or simply watching a movie.

This won't be possible with family around as there would be certain restrictions and with friends, I might want to act modest but when it is only me on a trip, I get to try out new things and learn on my own.

Travelling solo is never boring to me. I usually feel energized in my own space. It enables me to relax, meditate and reflect on so many things. I can clear my head and sort things out my way.

Most of all, being able to enjoy peace and tranquility on my trip is something that I crave whenever I travel.

When it comes to travelling solo, I have never considered it boring, not even for a minute.

Madam adventurer 😅. I love traveling too, although I often experience motion sickness. Whether it's solo or with company, I'm good to go.

I agree with you 💯 on solo travel. it gives one enough time to look at how one have overcome same challenges and how you have grown as a person.
