Job offer//Gratefulness is a lifestyle...Loh 261.
Pleasant greetings to you all on hive and the ladies of this prestigious community. Isn't it amazing how the week is closing in on us so speedily?
I have always loved Canada and the Philippines as countries I could live in if I had the opportunity. Now, if such an opportunity crops up through a work setting with the only condition being that I am the only one to travel oversees alone without my spouse and kids. The question here is, “Would I take up the job offer or would I decline it?”
To be candid, the answer to this question is subjective and relational to each person's preference. There is no right or wrong answer to this question. It all depends on the individual and how she handles her family when the offer is given*.

Personally, I would not be hasty in declining the offer. I would sit withy spouse and discuss the pro's and con's of this job offer and also look at how it would affect our family's relationship. If I happen to have a newborn baby who is still developing with me, then chances are that I might decline the offer unless the overseas firm is ready to make an exception for my baby. Other than that, I believe that things can go on well without me at home .
Another factor I'd consider is the pay. Is the salary payment worth the sacrifice I would be making? I would compare and contrast it to my businesses here in my country and see the possibilities that could come out of it.
Finally, I would focus on the needs of my spouse as my better half. I would put into consideration his needs and find out if he would be able to bear that long without me (his companion) by his side. I could also come up with a plan to come visit maybe once in six months depending on my work schedule but if this won't be possible, then I need to know that my man can be man enough to hold the home fort without me for 24 months.
Now, when all these considerations have been settled, that would inform my choice of whether to take up the job offer or decline it.
Even though travelling out to either of those countries would be a dream come true, I'd always put my family first above all.
Gratefulness isn't just about showing appreciation; rather it is a lifestyle hinged on the fact that we recognize the Creator's hands working for our good in our lives.

Gratefulness as a lifestyle doesn't just improve our overall wellbeing, it places us on a pedestal of hope to receive more good things daily.
I am a grateful person and I have practiced the art of being grateful for as long as I can remember and what I most grateful for is for my life. Now this might sound cliche but I guarantee that it is not.
A hymn writer wrote a hymn with the words “count your blessings name them one by one”. I do this so often on a daily basis. So when I say I'm most grateful for my life, I mention every aspect of my life that I can think of.
From my health, sanity, correct body function, provisions, safety, security, wisdom to be productive and effective, my daughter, her safety, sanity and good health, my brothers and sisters, my neighbour's, my friends, colleagues and for so many more things which are affiliated to my life, you'll find that I have a lot to be grateful for in my life.
I'm also grateful to God who makes all things work together for my good everyday.

Wow, this is such a great wisdom from you ma. I think many people, once they hear about travelling abroad, immediately what occupied their tought is money. But they rarely pause to consider what comes after money. What is the essence of having wealth if you lose your family and your peace in the process? Both gender need to reflect on this. I was really touched by this part of your write up. Thank you for sharing such deep insight.
I am glad you found my write up insightful.
Thanks a lot 😁
I first went to Africa when I was 24, left everyone behind and went for it hehe
