In for the millions, out with the cents.

Hello hivers and comedy lovers. Hope your day was well spent?

I am a huge promoter of hive platform and this is because of the so many benefits I have come to enjoy here on the block chain.

From meeting new and interesting people, learning to write my thoughts into something meaningful that people can connect with and I also earn from it, plus the enormous amount of knowledge available, hmm, what's not to like about hive

As a good promoter, I do not fail to pass on the word of hive to those close to me like a passionate evangelist on a mission. It so happened that I onboarded a fellow colleague at work, about two years ago.

Of course, I placed the fact that one can earn by writing posts on hive and just like me, she was drawn. Afterall who would pass up a good way to make money? (talk about crazy rich Nigerians 😁).

I did my bit just like I had learned from my own onboarder and soon, she had written her first post and in a month, she had written three more posts.

I was so happy for her progress like I was the angel in charge of the book of records in heaven, recording her growth. But all that changed after just one month of writing four posts.

When I asked her why she stopped writing, her reason was that she was not seeing the money I told her about. She whi was happily shaking like palm leaves during harmattan has now turned still.

In my mind, I was like ”Were you expecting to cash out millions as a newbie?” ( I laughed in Swahili).

I encouraged her to keep up at it, reminding her to engage with other people's post and get recognized as this was a stepping stone to getting upvotes on a post. She seemed to “hear me” but I knew that my words had entered her right ear and flown out through her left ear but I waited for her patiently.

Two months later, she wrote one post and from then till now, she hasn't stepped into hive. I thought she lost her keys but I recall saving them for her in safe places with backup, so that wasn't it and then it dawned on me that I can take a horse to the stream but I can't force the horse to drink water.

She wasn't ready to put in the work and I wasn't ready to keep pushing her like a wheelbarrow. No one spits out honey when it is put into their mouth except the person is a witch. I have shown her the way, it is left to her to make good use of it but I will not force nor push anymore and that was how I let go of hive talks with her till she resigned from work to a better place.

Since she didn’t want some of this honey from hive, I kept it for myself.
