Her own boss....Finish the tale #28.
Just as she was about to quit her job,her boss offered her the promotion she stopped hoping for long ago. As Anna read the letter which stated her promotion and benefits, she couldn't help but have mixed feelings.
On one hand she was happy she finally got her desire having worked with her firm for almost a decade but another part of her was not pleased with the letter. She had waited and hoped that all her dedication and diligence would one day yield results and promotion but her managers were greedy. They took bribes and promoted some of her less qualified colleagues.
She had stopped herself from hoping anymore for the promotion. She even stopped applying for it, nor did she take the company's promotional examination. All she wanted now was to work peacefully until her thirty-fifth birthday and then she would resign with this company.
Her thirty-fifth birthday was just around the corner and she had been making plans about her future. Once she resigns from the company, she would go back to her long lost passion which is designing cloth designs and selling the to the highest bidder. She would work remotely from home, at her place and with her own rules.
Determined to be free of the sham of her organization, she took the letter and went to the CEO's office.
”Good day sir. I'm here to discuss something important with you”.
”Oh Anna, it's you. Come in and have a seat”, He said smiling from ear to ear at her as she pointed to a seat in front of him.
*”I would like to show my appreciation for the promotion given but I would also decline and resign from this job”” Anna told her boss with a straight forward face.
Mr William, her boss, was dumbfounded. He thought she would finally be happy and continue slaving away for his company. Never in his wildest dreams was he expecting her resignation.
”Sir, my heart is set on this and I have already submitted my resignation to the Human Resource Department .I'll take my leave now”. With that, Anna walked away with a swagger to her steps.
She had finally gotten what she wanted but much more than that, she is now independent and on her way to building the remaining days of her life as her own boss.

Imagine denying someone her rightful position over the years only to offer it when she had already planned to quit. That's wickedness and slavery of the highest order. The CEO can go ahead and lick his wounds. Oniyeye. 🤣

Most of these employers feel that just because some workers are diligent, they can't do without their job but they forget that once someone had been pushed to the wal l,reaction is inevitable.
