Help!......Finish the tale #26.

It was their last beach day of the summer — and of course, someone got stung by a jellyfish.

”Someone help, a girl is drowning in the water! Please come quickly!”

Josephine was the one calling for help. She had seen the little girl walk into the warm blue water with her friends. No one expected something negative to happen.

In quick lightning speed, a lifeguard was already in the water, swimming towards the drowning girl. Fortunately, he was able to bring her out to shore without much hassle.

Josephine ran towards them, just to be sure the girl would be fine. The lifesaver was already carrying out CPR on the little girl. As Josephine drew closer to them, the girl was coughing up some water but she was very weak. Josephine also noticed something off. There was a red swollen patch on her left thigh.

Josephine quickly alerted the lifeguard about the swollen part and he after some inspection gave his prognosis. ”Ma'am, this girl has been stung by a jellyfish. I will be needing your help in taking her inside the beach house”

Josephine agreed and helped him carry the little girl into his beach house. Together, they laid the little girl on the bed and began thinking of a solution. ”What are we going to do next sir?” Josephine asked with a shakiness in her voice.

”Don't worry ma'am. I know some basic first aid treatment for jellyfish stings but she'll still need to be taken to the hospital for proper treatment”. Josephine nodded in understanding. ”So what can I do to help?”

”Hand me some sea salt, a bowl of water and a piece of towel” he requested. Josephine swung to action immediately. She was good with working under pressure even though her pulse was racing at 160km per hour. She quickly searched around the house, got the things he requested and brought it to him.

She then stood beside the bed watching him as he used salt water to clean the red swollen part of the little girl's thigh. Then he stood up to get some pain killers for the little girl. She took the medication and slept off.

”Is she going to be okay?” Josephine asked.

”Yes she will, ma'am. I'll be sure to call an ambulance when she wakes up. Thank you for your help today ma'am” and with that, Josephine left his place, heading to her own suite.

The next day, she quickly went in search of the lifesaver whose name she had come to find out was Matt. She wanted to check up on the little girl and appreciate him as well for his rescue and first aid treatment.

They might not be related but Josephine was a kind soul. Her heart would ache at the pains of others and so naturally, her heart ached for the little girl.

When she got to Matt's beach house, she found him typing away on his laptop. *”Hi, how are you today?’” he asked, taking her by surprise.

*”I'm good, thanks. I came here to check on the little girl you saved yesterday. How's she doing now?””

”Oh, she's better. I sent her to the hospital after she woke up and I also told her that she was rescued by a kind soul. She asked me to give you this if I ever get to see you before you leave”. Matt stood up and walked to the bed, lifted up the pillow and brought out a card.

He gave the card to her and Josephine smiled seeing the childish handwriting on it. She read out ”Thank you ma'am for saving me yesterday. You are an angel. Love from Betty”.

The words in the card warmed Josephine's heart and she once more appreciated Matt before leaving back to her suite. Her heart was finally at peace because Betty was doing alright. Summer was over and she had extended her stay just to care for that little girl. ”Her being safe was worthy extra time here” she said to herself before heading in to pack her stuff.

Thanks for reading.

Thank goodness Josephine noticed her earlier and the swift response of the lifeguards if not who knows what would have happened

Can we have a novel on this please? 🙂

The tale was very nice and captivating. Felt like it shouldn't end. It was an interesting read for me. I guess you write stories very well.

It was good of Josephine and Matt for what they did for Betty. We need kind hearts like that of Josephine.

If you would excuse me, I want to go and learn some first aid and how to swim, so I can be like Matt 😁.

This is just one of the reasons I don't like beaches - anything can happen. Thank goodness Josephine noticed the girl on time before she drowned.
And for Betty she's a sweet soul, so thoughtful of her to send the card to Josephine.

Thankfully nobody peed on her! Do you have that old wives tale about peeing on a jellyfish sting?
