Gold to retirement... Literary games #9.

*Pleasant greetings to you all. This post is a response to the #literarygames #09 as initiated by @allentaylor to use 3 chosen words in a single paragraph story. The words are Velcro, Plinth and bananafish. Since there was liberty to use the words how we choose, I chose to use them metaphorically in my story. Do enjoy……

Story

He ran, as fast as his feet could carry him. Although it was dusk and the moon hid itself in the clouds, Ares could still find his way. He knew what he wanted and that was to reach the palace's plinth. Under the deep black sky, he slowed his pace to a walk, his breathing almost unsteady but he was a skilled warrior. ”He ain't no bananafish glutton”, he thought and just as his hands touched the solid base, he felt the Velcro, peeled it off to reveal a hidden map to the once mythical kingdom of gold. ”A happy retirement awaits!”
