Hello everyone, greetings!

Having friends is considered to be a blessing because ypu get to have people who would "ride or die" with you and stick with you through thick and thin.

Having a crircle of trusted friends is even way better as this means that you have got a support system for life. Friends, true friends are the only ones who can look you in the eye and tell you the truth, especially because they know you really well.

My circle of friends are composed of great youths, two males and three females. I was the fourth female in our circle. We all grew up together in church and have been together for a long time, since we were teenagers.

Right now, we are all in various cities in the country but we still communicate with one another from time to time. I miss those days when we would hold weekly meetings in our church auditorium. It was basically on a Saturday, when teens and youths come together to do a volunteer clean up of the church premises. When we were done cleaning and putting everything in it's proper place against church service the next day, we would sit down (circle formation) and begin a-gisting.

Our meetings were just an avenue to catch up on how we spent our lives during the week, a time to also rant and maybe a little gossip 😜 too. There was no moderator, the one with his or her heart full, spills as he or she feels led to.

One thing was quite particular about me and that's why I can boldly and proudly say that, they would usually wait for me to be Ava before they went too deep in discussions.

This was because I always brought the fun. I dislike sad and depressing situations or gatherings. Whenever anyone's story telling or ranting was becoming gloomy, I a.k.a Miss cheeky, would step in with my cheekiness to bring humour out of everything that has been said. I usually left them laughing so hard that their tummy begins to hurt, "yet I wasn't a comedian" hehe.

Sometimes I go the extra mile to get refreshments for all of us. Asides from the fact that we would be tired after the clean ups, it serves as a way to lighten the mood as well. I remember that they were usually grateful for my thoughtfulness but hey, I was just being a good friend.

I think my ability to turn the tables around and bring in humour even from the most simple and ordinary situations endeared me to them a lot. Plus my ability to call a spade a spade irrespective of who was handling the tool, kept me close to them. I detest pretense and I'm blunt with my opinions but I still convey them in loving ways that won't trample anyone's ego cos I believe in the dignity of the human person and do my utmost best to uphold it.

Another thing I feel endeared me to my friends was my top notch story telling ability. I had a knack for retelling movirs and movie series in a most dramatic and vivid way that leaves my audience wanting for more. I usually tell them episodes of Mexican and Korean drama series I had watched during the week, most od the time in our meetings.

We would all end up staying for up to fiur hours just gisting, commenting, advising, dancing, eating and what have you. It was a time we always looked forward to. Writing about this right now is bringing sweet waves of nostalgia to me. I love my friends but we gotta face life head on and survive. I'm proud to say that I'm proud of them in their respective life chosen fields....cheers to friendship.
