Falling my steeze .....Comedy Club Contest #4.

Pleasant greetings to you all and hope you and a good week?😁

Being a teacher with over a decade of hands-on experience, there are certain qualities that I picked up and it has stayed with me from the outset. One of such qualities is being neatly dressed and appearing beautiful yet modest.

I once worked with a private school that awarded teachers based on some criteria like punctuality, friendliness to parents or even dressing well. It was a competition amongst the female teachers as we all wanted to win the award every term ending. That system built in me the desire to always dress well and be beautiful too.

The day my outfit betrayed me is still very fresh in my memory. Of course I have encountered several wardrobe mishaps but this one happened to be the most embarrassing so far. It happened last year while I was in school. Prior to that, I had spent time beautifying myself like a new bride about to be paraded on the street.

That day happened to be the school's open day, a day where parents are allowed to come into the school and view the academic work of their children. It was also a day when parents expressly appreciated their children's teachers with gifts in cash or kind. As a good teacher that I am, I was expecting big gifts and so I did my best to look good.

I wanted to create an aura of Independence and grace so that when the parents saw me, they would gift me something tangible. After dressing up pretty, I started my journey to school. In my mind, I was more beautiful than Queen Charlotte of Bridgeton and I was loving myself. Even the students complimented me from the gate and my head was just getting enlarged.

I was so ready to wow the parents when a student called my attention. I thought she wanted to compliment me and so I ignored her. She kept calling me ”Mistress….Mistress”. ”Yes, what Is it”, I snapped. She raised her pointy finger to point at my arm. I became confused. I urged her to speak freely and that was when she pointed out a tear behind my armpit.

It was like the ground should split open for me to enter into it and hide. I could not move freely anymore. Even when the parents started coming in to see me, I could not freely relate with them as I kept thinking about the torn armpit part of my dress.

Luckily, I had an extra handkerchief with me which I used to temporarily block the hole but that meant that one of my arms was raised higher than the other and it attracted a lot of questions from parents. The open day went well and I received a lot of gifts but I felt very self-conscious because of that tear.

I was the last teacher to leave school that day as I didn't want any staff member to ask me what happened to my clothes. I took a bike home too as I didn't want to answer the one thousand and one people on the road about my dress being torn.

All my steeze went down the drain like a sneeze. It pained me then o, but I'm over it now.

Thank you all for reading. My entry to comedy club contest #4.

Such an experience can be embarrassing and so it's normal for you to be conscious, I'll be in same position if I were you.

Lol, not only did your steeze went down, so did your aura.
If people see that handkerchief hanging on your cloth, it would look like designs for the dress.

With that kind of situation, if I were you, I would have gone for tailor except there's no nearby one. You could have ordered one too.
You needed to maintain that steeeeeze
