Come back home

Yesterday, I finally got a chance to visit my immediate younger brother who has been in the hospital for several days now.

When I received a message from him via WhatsApp stating how he was rushed from the hospital from work, my heart literally fell to the pit of my stomach but I heels strong and asked him what the doctor's diagnosis was and when he replied with appendicitis, my internal organs somersaulted inside my body.

Fortunately, from the scan report, we knew that his appendix was inflamed and not ruptured yet, so that was a relief as it wouldn't be treated as an emergency.

I immediately put a call to my youngest brother to quickly visit the hospital, stay with our brother and keep me abreast of whatever was required.

The surgery was carried out on him successfully and when I journeyed from my place to the hospital in another city, all that came to my mind was for him to come back home.

As much as I love medicine with all its advancements, my heart breaks knowing that I have a loved one who is hospitalized.

Finally seeing my kid brother and watching him recuperate well was a huge relief for me. Even his attending doctor had very good news for us that warmed my heart.

My brother will be discharged in a few days time and I can't wait for him to come back home to rest and recover.

As I played and listened to this song, I couldn't help it but this particular part of the song resonated with my emotions and the way that I felt at that time. Take a glimpse of the lyrics below…

*Letting my fears show 'til I can face 'em

Letting my tears go 'til I can taste 'em

Hell, what do I know where you and I'll go?

Damn it, I hope you come back home

Ooh

Come back home

Ooh

Come back home

I don't know what's happening to me

Can you hear my pulse beat underneath?

Words are getting hard for me to speak

That's new for me

Letting my fears show

Letting my tears go

Hell, what do I know where you and I'll go?

Damn it, I hope

Letting my fears show 'til I can face 'em

Letting my tears go 'til I can taste 'em

Hell, what do I know where you and I'll go?

Damn it, I hope you come back home

Ooh

Oh, come back home

Ooh

Oh, come back home*

Come back home was sung by Sofia Carson but I got to love this music when it was used in the movie purple hearts. It's a cool song but the only part I'm very familiar with is come back home.

Thanks for reading and viewing. Wishing you all a great week ahead.

Thank goodness it wasn't emergency and the surgery was successful. Visiting the hospital to see how he's faring was the best thing to do, now your mind is at ease. With you around, I'm sure he'll be well taken care of. Good a thing, you still have few weeks till school reopens.
My regards to him.
