Grey to Cold hands. ..Hn prompt #97.
Who wants to die?
I asked my students in class and all of them without mincing words screamed ”God forbid”. I looked at their faces and I could see the apparent fear in their eyes at just the mention of the scary five letter word…..Death.
We all want to live long. We want to keep existing and keep enjoying the good things of life which is good but this ideology seems to challenge the Order of life which states that ”All living things must die.
A comedian invited to a youth summit was called on stage followed by a round of applause but I guess he was not satisfied and the best thing he sida immediately he was handed the microphones was…
“If you know that you want to see tomorrow, then clap once but if you want to keep on living, then don't stop clapping”.
You need to have heard the sound of the ovation. It was like a million elephants stomping their feet. As much as this might sound cool, I find it hilarious because amongst those who clapped, some might not see the next dawn. Life happens.
Coming to the prompt of the week which focuses on purchasing immortality,my take on this is a very big NO. I would not purchase immortality even if I have the means to do so.
Watching the movie Lion King made me realize that life is a cycle and that cycle creates a balance that keeps the ecosystem in check. When that cycle is distorted, life becomes chaotic.
This is why I would not purchase immortality or the ability to live exempt from death.
Should I talk about the pain and agony that being an immortal brings. I would have to watch my family, friends, loved ones die before my very eyes. That kind of pain cannot be healed by time.
Being immortal would also mean that I would remain in this fallen world, day after day and I would get to watch diverse corrupt governmental systems emerge. I would keep hearing about wars and increased insecurities and I'll be powerless to change it.
Even superhumans from our fantasy movies can't solve the problems of everyone in the world, much less me being immortal. I would resent myself for being alive to see mass degradation of the world's economy and more. This will not be palatable with a softie like me.
The only form of immortality I would subscribe to is leaving a legacy that my children and grandchildren can thrive and build on. A legacy that would carry on my name for many many generations.
I want to grow old…yes, .I want to experience grey hairs with the ups and downs of ageing but I'll not pray to spend another day when my time is up. I pray to have lived happy, fulfilled and content.
There is a promise in God for a better place called heaven and that's where my sight is on. Immortality on Earth is unfruitful and vain unlike immortality in heaven which will be productive and joy lasting.
Thank you all for reading.

I can recall publishing a post about this topic sometime last year, and I stated that I wouldn't wish for immortality because there's a likelihood that I'll be exposed to emotional turmoil, turned to a tourists attraction and the likes.
I only wish to die a happy death after I have lived to a ripe age.
Yes that's the best form of prayer.
Thanks sis for all you do
Yes o true talk immortality is unfruitful
Yes it is
No body wan die o. Nice image sis
😂😂😂
If one is ever given immortality, such an individual will definitely pray for death one day after seeing everything going while they are alive. Before my grandma died, she would always wish for death to come because to her, it felt so lonely when everyone of her mates had gone leaving her alone in the village. So, immortality isn't something one would wish for.
It isn't ooo. No matter how cheap it is.
