Apocalypto my first and last horror movie

Greetings, my fellow night crawlers, it's another interesting weekly prompt, and I am so happy about the topic of this weekly prompt, it takes my mind back to Aba, Abia state, my home town.
I'm not a movie person, I hardly watch movies, but this movie caught my attention. It's been a long time, but everything about this movie sticks in my brain.

Apocalypto

This movie is far back 2006 but its lessons are like yesterday, it was a bloody movie, the name of the main actor is Jaguar paw also known as Rudy Youngblood, the name alone sounds horror, this young handsome man did wonders in this movie and at the end he was able to save his beautiful wife and two children from the hands of those who came to take them captive as slaves.

Jaguar paw and others from the same village were captured as slaves, before that he was brave enough to hide his pregnant wife and son in a very deep pit because he trusted in his strength, Jaguar was a hunter and his father taught him how to fight and kill before he died, That was what saved him during the attack of Mayan raiders.
Mayan raiders brutally killed all the people they took into slavery from Jaguars village, they harvested their organs alive and that was a very painful death.

Just a little opportunity Jaguar paw ran away from the raiders and at that point he didn't know where and how he's going to survive.

Jaguar fought for his life in the jungle, those raiders chased him and fought him, Jaguar had no gun with him but everything he found in that forest became a weapon for war, he fought over 20 armed men and he killed them all.

The most frightening part of this movie was how he would set a trap and those chasing him would fall into the trap, the trap would slice them into pieces.
The leader of the raiders didn't care how his men were being killed by Jaguar paw, he was only interested in capturing him, unfortunately for him he lost his life.

Jaguar paw was busy fighting in the forest and it was time for his wife to give birth, it had rained so heavily, the pit was filled with water from the village, Jaguar's pregnant wife carried her son at her back and gave birth to a baby boy, there was no food or water but she was surviving.

At some point when they almost caught him I became so scared, I was praying they wouldn't catch him because I knew the wife was waiting for him, on the other hand the wife was battling with so many wild animals inside the pet but she never gave up.

Yes it was a bloody movie but I learned what determination and resilience can make one achieve, if he had given in because they were captive what would have happened to his pregnant.

I spent over two hours watching this movie, I never remembered that I was going to work the next day, it was till 3:am when I went to bed, I wanted to see the end of this movie and I was happy he reconciled with his family after fighting for months for his life.

Watch Apocalypse Now movie

The time is.

Ohh, I’ve watched bits and pieces of this movie, so I can faintly recall some scenes which you describe. I didn’t think it was a horror movie. I’ve always thought it simply bothered along the lines of action.

I have not watched such bloody movie again, because it's always scary.

I've watched this movie. I guess we all have what could be scary to us differing from others. Maybe because this wasn't really scary to me.
There was some tense moments in the movie and I enjoyed the movie. I must also commend the efforts of the wife to survive.

The movie lives as one to be well remembered.

I remember this movie well because I've watched it about 3 or more times. The way one mistake led to almost the destruction of their entire clan and how he fought to save what was left. His wife was also very strong, enduring such pain even in labour. She couldn't even scream in intense pain. It's a really touching story.

Three times? Ahhh I can't watch it again, it makes me panic a lot, and I don't like it, infact that's why I don't watch movies anyway, is a personal stuff..
