I didn’t understand the hype… until it healed something in me.
That was me before K-pop, the type to scroll past the flashy music videos and catchy tunes, wondering why people were obsessed. But one night, after a really bad day, I stumbled on a video of BTS performing "Spring Day." I didn’t know what they were singing, but I felt every word. The emotion, the energy, the sincerity, it hit me like a wave. That was the exact moment something changed in me. That night, I didn’t just discover K-pop. I found something that finally understood me.
Since then, it hasn’t been just about the music, it’s about the connection. I’ve come to admire how much heart and effort K-pop idols pour into every move, every lyric, and every smile they share with fans. It’s not easy to be that dedicated, and it’s definitely not easy to stay so humble with millions watching you. But they do.
My favorite artist? Without a doubt, it’s BTS. Not just because they’re global stars, but because they’ve helped me through some of the darkest moments of my life. Their songs don’t just entertain, they speak truth. They comfort. They remind you that you matter, even when the world makes you feel invisible. The way RM speaks with depth, the way Jimin moves like emotion itself, and the way Jungkook pours his soul into every performance it’s pure magic.
And if I had to choose one K-pop song that stays with me, it would be "Epiphany" by Jin. That song... it felt like someone finally said what I had always needed to hear: “I’m the one I should love in this world.” I cried the first time I heard it. Still do, sometimes.
My K-pop story isn’t about trends or fan wars. It’s about finding light when things felt hopeless. It’s about healing. It’s about learning to dance again not just physically, but emotionally. K-pop didn’t just become part of my playlist. It became part of my heart.
And that’s something I’ll always be thankful for

Hello,
One of my first songs about K-pop is Spring Day too. Right after listening to the song I started learning Korean and this created my teenage years. I started singing with K-pop. Like you said, "Since then, it hasn’t been just about the music, it’s about the connection."
Sometimes, songs aren't just songs and they become words that effect your life in a good way. I am glad they helped you too.
Have a nice one,
@bemier
