The Sweet Victory Of Harvesting Our Pineapple

After Five Long Years

Of tender care and unwavering patience.. Our pineapple plant graced us with a long-awaited surprise this past April. Nestled at the heart of the plant, a baby pineapple emerged, a testament to the power of time and nurturing. However, nature threw us a curveball. The main stem supporting our pineapple, the fruit of years of dedication, gave way. Our hearts sank as we watched it fall. We had no choice but to harvest it early, fearing it might not reach its full potential on the stem.

With great care .. We cut free the petite pineapple, cradling it in our hands. Its skin, a vivid hue of golden yellow, whispered promises of the sweet treasure within. We knew the moment had come, and with a mix of excitement and gratitude, we prepared to taste the fruit of our labor.

I slowly and carefully .. Cut off the top and the bottom, then methodically sliced off thin layers of rough outer skin. With every slice of the sharp knife, beautiful golden flesh was revealed and accompanied by the sugary smell of pineapple. I was being as careful as possible as to not waste a bit of the golden goodness.

It Was Time To Eat!

We had waited so long for this .. With each bite, we were met with an explosion of sweetness. The flavor was concentrated and divine, a testament to the resilience of our little pineapple. Though small in stature, it left a lasting impression, a symbol of the rewards that come with patience and dedication. Despite its modest size, the experience was nothing short of a triumph. The pineapple may have been petite, but it was a treasure beyond measure. It was the perfect little treat after an extended wait, a sweet victory that warmed our hearts.

As we savor the memory .. Of that perfectly sweet reward, we find ourselves in a familiar place of anticipation. The cycle begins anew, as we nurture our plant, knowing that the next harvest, whenever it may be, will bring its own unique joys. We wait once more, with hope in our hearts and gratitude for the lessons learned from our tiny, triumphant pineapple.

A Testament To Patience
A Poem By BDMiller

In the garden's heart, a tale unfolds,
A pineapple, a story of patience untold.
Eight months it grew, a labor of love,
A testament to blessings from above.

For five long years, we tended the earth,
Nurturing dreams, a symbol of worth.
Anticipation danced in our eyes,
As each day passed, beneath the skies.

Then, in the spring, a miracle we saw,
Emerging from leaves, a promise, a law.
A pineapple small, but mighty in grace,
A testament to time and its steady pace.

As days turned to weeks, it stood tall and strong,
A beacon of hope, a chorus of song.
Its skin took on hues of sunset's embrace,
A treasure unfolding, a delicate grace.

But fate had its plans, a twist in the tale,
A stem that gave way, like a ship without sail.
With bated breath, we made the decision,
To harvest with care, our precious provision.

Golden and sweet, in our hands it lay,
A fruit of our labor, a gift of the day.
Its essence, a symphony, a taste to savor,
A testament to patience, an ultimate flavor.

For eight months we waited, for five years we dreamed,
And now in our hands, the harvest redeemed.
A pineapple, a symbol, of dreams that come true,
A reminder that patience brings forth what is due.

As we savor this moment, this fruit of our toil,
We cherish the journey, the waiting, the soil.
For in every harvest, a story is spun,
Of dedication, of patience, of battles hard-won.

So we'll plant again, with hope in our hearts,
Knowing that time is where true beauty imparts.
And when the next pineapple graces our sight,
We'll remember this moment, this sweet, golden light.

Rest In Peace Little Miss Molly

She would have loved a little taste of the Pineapple. The house as been very quiet to say the least. She is never far from our thoughts.. The memories are bountiful.

IMG_4948_011.jpg

In whispers of petals, memories sigh,
Of Little Miss Molly, beneath azure sky.
With mischief in eyes, and swatting so sweet,
She danced through our lives, a joyous heartbeat.

Beside her, an orchid, delicate and fair,
A dance of affection, a playful affair.
She'd tease and she'd taunt, a spirited spat,
Yet love bloomed between them, an inseparable pact.

But now, in the stillness, the orchid stands lone,
Its blooms, once vibrant, with shadows are sewn.
For Molly, dear Molly, has taken her flight,
Leaving echoes of laughter, in the hush of the night.

Yet in every petal, her spirit resides,
In the dance of the orchid, her presence abides.
For love knows no boundaries, even through fate,
In the heart of a flower, we find our soulmate.

That's awesome! I'm glad it worked out so well for you. Sorry that you couldn't let it go longer though. At least now you know you can do it!

It never really grew much bigger after a certain point. Maybe the soil, nutrition and temp when it was just developing.. i don't know. It was fun though regardless. Just takes forever and a day to grow them from the top of another pineapple, like this one was.

Dear @bdmillergallery Pineapple is a tasty and nutritious fruit, it is always very important to apply all the mechanisms so that your plantation is in good condition, it was worth doing it to maintain the plantation. Very good juices and sweets are made with pineapple. From Venezuela successes.

It's really amazing. My favorite but it looks too small. I bought some big pineapples last year from the hill country of our country and they were very tasty.

Yeah this one is a tiny fruit. I grew it in a pot inside the house.

Where are you growing that pineapple plant? Inside?

We have grown several Pineapples over the years. When we buy a pineapple at the store, I cut the top off and plant it in the garden or mulch pile. by the end of summer it has taken good root. I just transfer it into a pot and bring it inside. NOW.. It takes years for the plant to mature enough to produce fruit. Something like 5-6 years, so if your not the patient type then forget it. But I don't think the plant looks all that bad inside.. It's green at least! lol

So sad with the passing of your dear, dear Molly! Do you believe in a place where our beloved furbabies are waiting for us? I still cannot forget my Yorkies, and I cry each time I remember them.
I love your poem.

Oh Yes.. We whole heartedly believe we will see her (and Pepper) again in heaven. I can not wait for the day we are all reunited. It has been SO hard. The house has been too quiet. We still look for her tiny face in the front door when we pull in and as we open the garage door. Sadly we are heartbroken every time we don't see her where we normally did. The whole end of life stuff sucks.. but you know exactly what we are feeling. 😔 Life goes on.. but I am not liking it right now.

How cool you actually got a ripe pineapple! I have a huge pineapple plant, but it gets no special care than what all the rest get. But I hope one day…
