Four New Ounces and One Wild Bloom

Still Stacking ..

I promised you in my last post that I would write soon about some new silver additions to our stack. Well here it is. Four shiny new ounces added to the vault. Two beautiful 2024 W Silver Eagle dollars and two 1 ounce Morgan Silver bars.

As I mentioned before, we had not seen my parents since early November. So our Christmas and Easter gifts arrived a little later than usual. My parents are stackers too, so the choice of gift was not exactly a surprise. But still, every time we crack open a stocking or an egg and find that glint of silver inside, it brings a quiet joy.

These four little treasures are now locked away for safekeeping and future smiles. It never gets old.

Still Growing ..

But silver is not the only thing showing growth around here.

Take a look at what our Amaryllis plants are doing. I completely forgot about them this year. Around March I usually bring them up and get them into the light. This time, totally missed it.

Fast forward to mid May. I was hauling patio furniture up from the basement and there they were — looking neglected but not defeated. I actually said out loud to no one in particular, "Oh S#$T."

One good drink of water. A spot in the sun. And nature did the rest.

The biggest bulb has taken off like a rocket. I did not get a photo on the day I brought them up, May 10th, but what you are seeing below is about 15 days of growth.

Unreal. Just wild.

Stay tuned. I think this one is going to bloom bigger than ever.

And as always, thanks for stopping by.

More silver stories, garden surprises, and maybe a few Mr. Huxley adventures coming soon.

Nice!

Huxley is fitting right in nicely I see. He's so good for photos!

I have four amaryllis, two clivia, and one orchid blooming at home right now. Unfortunately, I'm away or I'd take some shots for you. Gorgeous flowers all around me!

That's awesome! Well hopefully there's still some blooms left when you get home. Otherwise the memory of the previous blooms will have to do. Lol

You can't go wrong with Silver... I was looking for the bloom, but wasn't able to see it opened...

No you can't and blooms finally opened. Well, what's left of them.. but that I'll have to post about later.

When new things are added, they cause a lot of joy. When we serve them, protect them, and water them on time, they grow well, and then after a few days, we are very happy to see them.

I never move my amaryllises. The big one is flowering yet again, right now. Second time this year. Hope you get nice blooms too!

Nope, if they went to the cellar, that would be the end of them. Better not out of sight, out of mind around here...

There’s something really special about holding a fresh ounce of silver in your hand, it’s like a little piece of timeless treasure. And the way your parents gift silver? That’s so thoughtful and meaningful.

Yes, it is very thoughtful of them. We greatly appreciate the gift and maybe some day it will be worth a bit more than today.

Oh! Those four new ounces are absolute gems, both literally and sentimentally. I love how they’re tied to family moments. The amaryllis, it’s amazing how nature patiently waits for its cue. One forgotten bulb, a splash of water, and suddenly it’s racing toward the sky like it never missed a beat. And of course, Huxley supervising makes it all the better. 😄

There is a second part to this story. I didn't think there would be other than the blooms opening, but yeah there is.. :/
I've been collecting silver and coins for a while now. Both fun and rewarding at the same time.. as long as silver prices keep going up. lol

Oh! second part? Now I'm curious😃 Wow, collecting silver and coins is such a cool hobby. It’s like holding history and potential profit in your hands. 😅

Ah... those ASEs are the best! I didn't know your parents were stackers... and wonderful gifts, @bdmillergallery.
Yup, seven ounces added to your stack!
