Wenesday Walk: BASIC LIFE IN THE PROVINCE

The sun rises behind the mountains, illuminating the mist that blankets our small village. The birds are singing, a natural alarm clock that is much more pleasant to listen to than the annoying sound of an alarm clock. The smell of earth and fresh air greets me, a familiar scent that reminds me of how peaceful life is here in the province.

I quickly get up and prepare breakfast for my husband and child. There are no instant noodles or bread here, just hot rice and fried rice with fried eggs and dried fish. It's simple food, but it feels good knowing it comes from our hard work.

After we eat, we go to the mountains for a walk. The scenery here is so beautiful. It's not noisy, there's no smoke from cars, just fresh air to breathe.

Life in the province is good. We may not have buildings, but we have mountains and large trees. It's a quiet place, and that's what makes our province happy.

When it comes to food, we never run out. Even if we don't have rice, it's okay, we have bananas, sweet potatoes, cassava, Corn and more.

And if we talk about vegetables, we're not going to lose in that department. Our vegetables here are fresh. Wherever you look, you can find vegetables like squash, patola, malunggay, and many others.

And for fruit, there's plenty here too. You won't have to spend money to eat fresh fruit because when it's fruit season, you can get a lot of it, like papaya, jackfruit, bananas, pomelo, and many others.

At night, I fall asleep to the sound of crickets, a sound that reminds me of how peaceful our life is.

If I had to choose, I would never trade my life here in our province. I was born here, and I will die here.

We may not be rich in money, but we are rich in love, in helping each other, and in the beauty of our environment. This is life in the province, a simple life but full of joy. A life I would never trade.

Living in a province is really good. The air is fresh, there's a few noise, and the items are more cheaper than living in a city. I live in a province now and it's really awesome to live but there are times that I missed living in a city.
