From the Hype, Skeptic to Believer: "My Web 3 Transformation"
It's incredibly another thrilling week of us sharing and storytelling. I’m so much honoured to be part of this very journey again. This very week’s prompt — WEB 3 — gives us all the opportunity to dig deep into a realm that is really changing lives globally. So, I will say fasten your seatbelt as I reveal my untold Web 3 story.
My First Encounter with Web 3
- I first of all heard about Web 3 for the very first time in the year 2021 during our campus tech summit. A speaker did mentioned how blockchain and decentralization could help change the world. At that very time, it really sounded like a tech gibberish to me. Words like DApps, DeFi, and NFTs felts more like codes from the outer space. My journey then began with curiosity — All I wanted was just to understand what all the hype was about.
The Entry Point — Crypto Blogging on Hive
My journey truly started with full focus when a friend introduced me to Hive, a unique decentralized blogging platform I have never seen before. At first, I couldn’t even believe I could earn crypto from writing what I loved. I then began posting articles and as well trying to engage with fellow bloggers. That’s was when I realized Web 3 wasn’t just a concept, it was a true lifestyle that's unique and powered by passion, ownership, and reward.
- Facing Misconceptions and Doubts
Just like every/many other Nigerians, I grew up with the belief that crypto is a scam. Some Stories of Ponzi schemes and the rug-pulls discouraged me after all. Even when I started blogging on Hive, I literally kept waiting for the "gotcha" moment. But of course the more I learned and earned, the more my fears slowly faded. The real turning point then came when I was able to convert most of my HBD earnings to a real money and use it for personal needs. I was so impressed 😁
- What Strengthened My Resolve
The securely decentralized nature of Web 3 fascinated me a whole lot. No middlemen. No banks. No censorship. Just the value exchange between people. I saw many creators being rewarded directly by the community, not advertisers or any hidden algorithms. That sense of transparency kept me going. I also joined communities like SciFi Multiverse that helps deepened my understanding of this space through creative expression always.
My Favorite Web 3 Space — Hive and DeFi
- So far so good, Hive remains one of my favorite because it helps me to combines creativity, community, and crypto. I’m also diving into uniquely in DeFi (Decentralized Finance) to understand how well people earn through staking and liquidity pools. The possibility of being my own bank —and that’s so empowering after all.
Advice to Upcoming Web 3 Enthusiasts
As someone with little knowledge, I'll say Start with learning. Don’t chase money first. Join Hive and communities in Hive like the SciFi Multiverse, ask questions, and try being consistent. It’s obviously a journey, and not a jackpot. Also, don’t even try to fear failure. The more we can explore, the more we grow.

Web 3 is not just the future in my perspective, it's definitely happening now. While I’m still learning on daily basis, I’m so much proud of how far I’ve come. From the ignorance to impact, this journey has really changed how I view the internet forever. I do hope my story inspires someone out there to please 🙏 take that first step — just like I did.

I was also skeptical about it at first, but with time I blend it, learn and improve on my lapse.
It's a vast place and it's a den of opportunity if used wisely.
More profit is coming when you devote your and be consistent because in web 3 most especially you are building a blog chain like hive you must be patient if you like know web 3 and take it to teach people if you your self is not consistent you would not go far but let me assured you on something life never end if you are still alive.
You have a good start in web 3 journey but I will advice you that money should not carry our attention from web 3 but instead give us a reason to study and put more effort to get our goal it will just start like a play but very lucrative just make sure you have your data stand by you have other network that if one have issue you can switch to another one then my dear you are done with web 3
If you are talking about scam there are alot of scammers in web 3 you just have to be very careful on your secrete affairs
