The Misunderstood East, or the Underestimated Trametes Versicolor.

Since I was once fond of collecting medicinal plants, I noticed one strange phenomenon, which I have no explanation for, except for what can be called either a lack of knowledge, or some kind of traditional competition, if you can call it that.

The thing is that if you go to the market of any city in Eastern Europe and look at the counter of a person who sells medicinal plants or other traditional medicine, then, with rare exceptions, if the seller is not Chinese or not from Eastern countries, then, basically, we will see only dried herbs and fruits, and from medicinal mushrooms, we will see only chaga.

It is strange, but there are many more medicinal mushrooms and they are quite common, such as Trametes versicolor, which has antioxidant and immunostimulating properties, and the list of diseases for which it is recommended to take drugs based on this mushroom is very extensive.

But no, the East is not understood here, or, indeed, traditionally this mushroom is not something that has been well studied and there are more concerns than positive experiences of its use.

Or, the fear of making a mistake with the mushroom, although I have seen many plants that are very similar to each other and one of them will be medicinal, and the other, extremely poisonous.

Be that as it may, mycology in our area traditionally limps in the medical field.
