Beekeeping is a territory of conscience.

Beekeeping is a territory of conscience.

I think you are familiar with such a popular expression as "The end justifies the means to achieve it", an interesting phrase that sounds like an axiom, but, in fact, it is just an attempt to hide the conflict of your own conscience and the specific situation in which you find yourself.

And, in order to avoid such conflicts, initially, before you take on any business, it would be great to weigh all the pros and cons and decide for yourself whether you are ready to sacrifice your conscience for the sake of achieving your goal, or not.

For example, in business it is considered normal, when talking about the quality of your products, to mention that the competitors' products clearly do not live up to their quality, or even more, but this can be an outright lie and, as another proverb says, every snipe praises its own swamp.

In those industries where humans interact with animals, conflicts of conscience may also arise, for example, I would not make a hole in the stomach of my cow to make it easier to feed, but someone considers this a normal practice.

In beekeeping, you can also encounter something similar, for example, it can be feeding bees with sugar, and some beekeepers, moreover, when there is insufficient nectar due to weather conditions, put bees on a sugar diet and sell the resulting honey as honey from wild herbs.

Fortunately, not all beekeepers practice this and we can also enjoy natural honey from the nectar of wild flowers.

Bees bring honey to the hive not to please the whim of the beekeeper, nor do they care about the survival of their family in the winter, when the warmth, health and energy of the family depend on the presence of excess food in the hive.

But sometimes beekeepers take honey frames even from the brood boxes of the hive, replacing it with sugar candy, a kind of sticky sugar candy, or fermented syrup.

A beekeeper, being in the business of beekeeping only an auxiliary worker for the bees, a service personnel, can sometimes be too greedy and I should prepare my conscience for this before I take up practical beekeeping.

The fact is that in many ways, the behavior of a novice beekeeper depends on the advice of those who were his mentor, and it is not a fact that the mentor knows what conscience is lol.

Understanding this, I look for information about beekeeping in many sources, communicating with different beekeepers, analyzing their experience of beekeeping, so that, in the future, I do not understand that my personal conscience is in great question lol.

Lately, you can read hysterical correspondence on beekeepers' forums about how the price of sugar and honey has practically equalized in wholesale prices and, therefore, it is more profitable to feed bees with honey than sugar, lol, what is bad for them is good for bees, here, one can say, conscience and justice have triumphed.

Below you can see my containers with data that I collect in INLEO and always have quick access to them it is very convenient.

Material thoughts about beekeeping №1

When I visited dense forests, I did not see ideal conditions for bees there, but many beekeepers harvest beekeeping products in such places.
