Splinterlands Art Contest Week 293 | Chaos Rear Guard
Design created by me in Photoshop
Hi people of the community, today I come to participate in this week and share another illustration of @Splinterlands, this time I have chosen the character Chaos Rear Guard, I have done it with the software Photoshop CS6, using the graphic tablet Huion Model HS610, thanks for seeing my post and I hope you enjoy it.

Sketch
For the sketch, I thought of a dynamic pose as if the character was in a battle facing an enemy, guided by the reference image, I highlighted different parts of the armor that has this character, which I found striking, as the part of the visor or beard where I placed more openings, for the ears I drew them a little shorter, I also added a couple of scars next to the face, in the shoulder pads highlight more the horns, also add some straps that connect the shoulder pads with the armor of the torso of the character, put more armor in the part of the leg and knee, and for the position of the arms, draw the hand as if it was increasing some kind of power or magic that then throw, while the other hand holds the sword.
Process
First I started by making the layers with the base colors, under the first layer of lines.
I then began to apply different shades of red to the skin to further mark the muscles, and then proceed to apply the shadow, repeating the same process with the rest of the armor: torso, gloves, arms and shoulder pads.
In this part I altered the brightness and contrast of each element that composes the character, to enhance the colors more.
In the landscape I placed a layer with a gradient of red on top and black below, and with a rocky texture brush, I started to create the mountains in the background, applying the colors dark purple and black.
I finished the illustration completing the last small details like the belt buckle, the rags, and the small elements between them, the chain, the mountains in the background I applied a blur effect to them, I also added a sunset and a smoke in the background. Concluding finally with the details of the lighting on the armor and the shadows, thank you very much for taking the time to read my post and have a great day.
Finished illustration
Thanks for reading my post!
Wow brother, I must sincerely congratulate you for the wonderful job you did here.Throughout the process, the good management of contrasts and color is noticeable. I really think that your work looks very natural, even at the end, if you told me it was a traditional drawing I would believe you, and that finish leaves me really enchanted. Very well done, good luck!
Thank you very much to appreciate my art!
