Splinterlands weekly | Dragon spirit

Hello hello everyone!
I have my pace coming back to me again, finaly! Though I'm still stuck on sketching and very minimal rendering... I am definitely exploring my software a lot more and I think I've gained a few tricks up my sleeve. I have definitely been using a lot more effect now than I have been in the past few months since I start using the software and I do think my style has been improving despite staying in sketch and scribble styles with a few rendering here and there ^^
So this time, I worked on the dragon spirit because I am on a dragon streak again XD IDK drawing dragons just make me so happy and I think I draw dragons really well. And looking at the splintercards... I never noticed there was that many dragons on Splinterlands and now I feel like I have newfound motivation with my dragon obsession XD

Duration: 2.5 hours
Software: Gopaint

So I started and finished this last night while I was resting after the grandma meeting I was dragged into. IDK drawing after a long day really relaxes me and I personally like the snow effect I did here XD Cuz I never imagined myself to ever do that to any of my drawings, But I have been watching a lot more digital art tutorials and have been trying to adapt more style so I count this as one of the improvements I've been making.

But as for my progress, I did actually want this to be a colorful one. I even made the sky background nice and bright.

At some point in my sketching, I actually thought of making the dragon a colorful blue, but IDK what happened so I ended up erasing that layer and ended up just sticking to sketches and scribbles for the time being. I did blend the colors in a little just for that distant scale effect but ultimately, it's all mostly sketch with the ink pen and the pencil pen I usually use for outlines. I do think I'll do something a bit more colorful when I can adapt to more colors again.

Uh.. beyond this color, I ended up forgetting to take more progression shots, but I basically just went down the color scale to darken and ad details to my dragon. I added more clouds on the front to keep that flight thing it has going on, I added dots then played with the motion blur of the software (which is really good btw). And that's how I ended up with my dragon

So this is all from me for today. I already miss my weekened, I swear!
I hope you guys had a good weekend and a good week ahead cuz I am looking at my workload this week and I don't know if I'll get to draw much. I'll be popping in here and there (as usual) UwU

it was a nice color choice, very somber and dramatic for such a spirit ☺️☺️

I like how this image "pops" as if it were three-dimensional.
