Sketchtember day 7: Snakes
Ophidiophobia will be our phobia today, and that involves the fear of snakes ^^ I am actually 50/50 on this phobia because I know there are a lot of venomous snakes out there and that they will attack in the wild, but when I look on social media and I see the cutest snakes ever, my mind just goes "AHHH why would dI be scared of these" But that's just me. I know the severity of this phobia will vary depending on the person. And I do know that not a lot of people have had good experiences with snakes either.
Materials: ballpens, white chalk and markers
Duration: 2 hours
I also liked how this one turned out ^^ even when I think that it could use a little more detailing? But I think it came out well with what little energy I had left.
For the base of everything, I actually had to do this with markers in hopes that I could finish this faster than the other ones. But as I was doing my sketch and doing the layers of pen, I realized this might take longer than I hoped for because I have never drawn a snake before. Like I've drawn frogs and spiders, but never snake XD and I have also drawn a dragon but it wasn't as detailed as this one XD or at least I didn't attempt to detail that one like I tried with this.
Then I went ahead and did some layering on my snake after I made some significant detail on my human XD My focus honestly should have been on the snake but I liked the idea of the girl getting constricted to death by this snake, or that maybe they're trying to get a little chummy ^^ either wya, I have no regrets of adding a human there.
Then I added some scales ^^ and then a bit more darkening and some shading. And before I knew it, I haalready been working on this piece for a good 2 hours by the time I was done with it. Honestly, the details I wanted to add took all of my time on this one, and it isn't necessarily a bad thing, unlike the last few ones where all my time just went to inking the background. I do think this is a way better use of my time XD
And there you go! I had fun with this one, so maybe I'll draw more snakes next time, or hope that the inktober prompts has a snake prompt somewhere in the mix.
And with that, I'll be calling it a day. I still have so many other stuff I want to doooooo but my energy is so limited, and so is my time in a day ;;-;; I kind of wish I didn't need to sleep, but that's impossible. Anyway, thank you guys for stopping by again! I look forward to seeing what I end up with tomorrow!
