Mermay day 3: wicked mermaid

3rd day of Mermay and I have strayed from my plans XD I was planning to do like inking and sketch like drawings to make it fast buutttt my hyperactivity has other plans XD

Software: gopaint

So I went full render on this one because wicked really is my style and I kind of just mixed up my current style with my old style and I'm pretty satisfied with how this came out first. I guess green is my current favorite Iif I can manage a full render with green XD

So I did a bit of adjusting here and there with the background first because I really wanted the background in itself to give me a mood and I'm pretty sure it worked if I managed to finish this in such a short amount of time XD

Then I feel like I got too focused so the next time I took a shot was on the point where I was doing the base color. I was actually doing a pretty god job blending here so I think I got a better hold of the software now. Does this mean I would do full renders more often now? I'm not sure. But we'll see. My art journey is a long one and I'm gonna need all the techniques I can learn. Also, I'm kind of hoping I can go for a hike around this month or next month. IDK because I really want to go out and about. I've been feeling pretty trapped with everything lately so I think my escapism tendencies are getting worse.

The next time I remembered to take shot was when I was almost done XD I was that focused and fueled by caffeine that I didn't even notice the time XD
So I did some neon green accents. I didn't bother erasing my sketch layer, only polishing it up and I finally finished the shading, all I needed left was the highlights.

And 3.5 hours later, I now have a wicked mermaid

Day 3 is donnneee~~ And now I need my evening walk then let's see if I can get started on a pin up mermaid or some of my other mermaids tonight. I hope I can be productive UwU If not, I'll probably have to turn to caffeine again.
