Madcap Magus fan art

Hello pipolll~~ I am back from the depths of work hell and I bring forth another drawing but in a different style. I actually see this style in hive a lot, the cute storybook illustration type and I have tried it out on a light healer drawing once but nothing too detailed as this one. I was mostly aiming for soft when I did that and I was seeing if the oil style suited me. I don't think it did that much 😅
Well this one, I did mostly watercolor-ish/mixed media thing with the Madcap Magus and this is how it went ☺️

Look at how cute and soft this style is 😍 probably not something a kid would appreciate if I put it in a child's story book but definitely something I'd appreciate if I made an art book with this style 🤭 It doesn't feel like my style either like... It's soft and it has pretty good definition and line art, something I usually avoid in my art unless needed or unless I aim for a sketch-type drawing.

As for my progression, I have forgotten to take that many progression shots because I was drawing woth my boyfriend when I did this ☺️ I do love our drawing dates ☺️

So here, I ended up skipping the sketch shot again and I went straight to the background and a few detaisl in the back that I think only I would notice 🤣 I also did the base color of my mushroom monster

Then here's more of a clean up some 1.5 hours in because we do take pauses to discuss some things while we draw (now you can see why I got so distracted 🤣) But they were nice discussions nonetheless.

By thus point, I was seriously debating whether I do a line art thing or it stays like that. I eventually did and the whole time my boyfriend was laughing cuz I kept saying doing line art is so weird 🤣 and it's definitely weird for me. But that's how my previous evening went ☺️ I'm just happy this turned out good despite how much I was complaining 🤣
