A few months ago, I discovered this small fungus growing on rotting wood. The shape is very small with a hood wrinkled like a thin, fragile umbrella. At that time, I didn't have time to share it, but today I want to share about the beauty of this mushroom.
This fungus is known as Mycena leptocephala, a species of small fungus that often grows on rotting wood. The color of the hood tends to be brownish gray with slender stems that look fragile, but are actually strong enough to support the body. Interestingly, fungi of the genus Mycena often have unique characteristics, some are even bioluminescent, although this one does not glow.
I found it around a small forest near the village, in a damp and shady area. The soft afternoon light makes this mushroom look even more attractive, especially against a warm colored background. If you look closely, there are small ants taking part in activities around it, showing how every part of this ecosystem is interconnected.
NOTE: I first wrote the article above in Indonesian, which is my own language, then I translated it using English with the help of Goggle.
