Genus Tenerus
Today I found a small insect that was very striking because of its bright and shiny body color. After I looked closely and matched it with the reference, I was sure that this insect belonged to the genus Tenerus, which is part of the Cleridae family, or better known as checkered beetles.
Beetles of this genus are usually predators, feeding on other insects, including the larvae of beetles or other pests. They have an important role in maintaining ecosystem balance by controlling other insect populations. Some species of the genus Tenerus are even used in biological pest control programs.
NOTE: I first wrote the article above in Indonesian, which is my own language, then I translated it using English with the help of Goggle.
