Famili Tenebrionidae

This insect has a fairly hard body with a dominant black-brown color. Its legs appear sturdy, and its antennae are quite short compared to some other insects I've encountered. When touched gently, it doesn't immediately run away, instead it tends to stay still as if pretending to be dead. This seems to be one of its defense mechanisms to avoid predators.

From several references I have read, insects from the Tenebrionidae family are known as beetles which are often found in dry environments and dead wood. They play an important role in the ecosystem as decomposers, helping the process of breaking down organic material.

This observation was quite interesting because I became more aware that there are so many small creatures around us that are often overlooked.

NOTE: I first wrote the article above in Indonesian, which is my own language, then I translated it using English with the help of Goggle.
