Solar panel shed for my car parking space

I have been thinking about this for a very long time. My car is currently standing in the hot sun every day. So, I thought it might be better to build a sunroof for it. I started exploring all the options and different types of roofing that I can get. But only recently, something came to my mind that it can maybe be better to get a solar panel setup that can act both as a power generation source and at the same time a roof for my car.

There are both pros and cons in this approach and I should say that I'm still confused which one I should go for. Maybe I will continue discussing the pros and cons. One of the biggest advantages is the dual purpose if I go for it, but the cost can get elevated. If I go for just a shed, it will maybe prevent the sun's heat, but it will not serve any other purpose. With solar panels, I can have an on-grid solution where the extra power that I generate can be sent back to the grid to reduce my electricity bill.

They say it may not be efficient to have the solar panels set up on the ground floor instead of the rooftop. That's one problem because light matters more, and if it is installed in a place where there are buildings around, the efficiency may not be very great. Solar panels usually produce a lot of energy during the morning as long as the panels are not highly heated up. When there is more light and when the heat is also low, they produce more energy.

In the years to come, I'm sure there will be more technological advancements to take care of all these problems. Solar panel implementation is a bit costly compared to making a car's shed roof. I was expecting a long-term solution, and maybe it can work for the long term. But after assessment, I realized that it may not be worth to just installing panels without having the required efficiency. For now, I have dropped my plan of installing solar panels, but maybe later I can give that thought a try once again. It also has to be placed on a proper roof, it seems, and this can be a great solution.

I don't think it's worth the cost, as you say it needs to be on the root for more efficiency

If there are no walls around, and you can get the sunlight properly on the area ywhere ou are thinking of installing the panels. Then it is best to do that. otherwise you need to think for some alternative.

I have gone through the deep research of solar energy through the years and always come to the conclusion that its really worth it if you have a long term vision and the cash to deploy, over time the gains from using solar energy does add up but its not an inmediate result, there are many factors like the amount of space and position of the panels to start so you get the best efficiency possible ✌️

That is one of my goals in the future when I could have a bigger house and land, so that I could maximize the place as well as have shade for the place. While also waiting for the technology to develop so that the cost could be a lot cheaper.

i think you must discuss it with some solar expert.

Solar panel is really spreading and taking over the world and this is actually something so beautiful to really admire about

I love your creative approach to solving the sun exposure issue! Combining a carport with solar panels not only protects your vehicle but also harnesses clean energy.
