More and more plastic alternatives
I usually write a lot about plastic alternatives, and I wish that one day we would get rid of plastic items and use more eco-friendly products. Today, microplastics are available everywhere, and it is very scary when they say that we are consuming a SIM card-sized microplastic every day without our knowledge. It is now the right time to return to how things used to be before plastic was invented.
There are many things for which Plastic is very important. I would even say that people consider that to be water proof and there are many advantages in using plastics in some of the products. But there are evident products from which plastics can be avoided and especially in the food industry. Today, we have so many plastic alternatives available in the market.
Non-plastic carry bags
If we purchase dress items, they pack them and give it to us in cardboard bags that are sturdy and good for a one time use. This is a good thing. Some shops are still using plastic bags, but they are also slowly transforming. I visited a store that provided cloth bags, and they bill either 5 Rs or 10 Rs extra for those bags and keep that as an option to us. The cloth bags are also reusable. We can just wash it and keep using it again and again.
Garbage bags have already been available in non-plastic material for a very long time but now other carry bags are also available as non-plastic materials that look and feel exactly like plastic bags. They have all the approvals and some non-plastic covers. When dissolved inside water, they take only a few minutes and get dissolved in water, which is a good thing. Though it can also lead to water contamination but at least they are biodegradable compared to the plastics that we are throwing in the trash.
I recently bought these bags for an event. They are available in Kg quantities, and based on the numbers we need, we can purchase an equivalent weight that the shopkeepers know. I wish this would soon become cheaper and available everywhere so that the local shop vendors can also use this.

Shops don't use anymore plastic bags here, either biodegradable or paper bags
One time use stuff also has to be biodegradable now
I was surprised to learn that there are some very durable disposable plates and utensils made from palm. They are more expensive than plastic or foam plates. But I think they are worth the extra cost.
A popular store here, known as Justrite has now introduced dress bags and it actually makes sense
It even lasts longer than the regular plastic bags that we know
The people of our country are also trying to avoid buying plastic products, but then for some time it gets difficult, people don't do this, but after that the same thing starts again. But if we want a good and healthy life, we have to stop this.
It’s definitely become essential today to rethink our reliance on plastic products, especially with the shocking numbers about how much microplastic we’re exposed to every day.

Plastic pollution results in disruption of the endocrine system; particularly
harmful to women of reproductive age and children- e.g. Chemicals like Bisphenol A are leached from plastics.
The world generates 400 MLT of plastic waste, whereas India's contribution is around 3.5 MLT. Of that, it is the packaging industry that contributes to 69% of the plastic waste.
While it's welcoming that the source of plastic pollution is being curtailed with bio-degradable alternatives, we also need proper civic sense with regard to plastics, so the bottom-up approach is equally important. I dont know how we sensitize the masses about it. because public at large is indifferent to plastic pollution.

The idea of these bags is excellent. I also believe that we all need to act and think about using less plastic
Trust me, we definitely need more plastic alternative as the earlier the better it will definitely be for us
This is a thoughtful reminder of the urgent need to shift towards sustainable alternatives. Hope more awareness and innovation make eco-friendly choices accessible to everyone!
As time goes by, technologies are becoming more accessible and more affordable; it's just a matter of people wanting them.
The invention of plastic prevented billiard balls from being made from ivory bones, and at one time, plastic helped in many areas. However, its use was overused, and the time is coming when it will give way to new materials.
