Precious metals help us understand how humans perceive value and it has nothing to do with math
Of a surety, adding three zeros to 100,000 makes a million, that is math, but a million of what? This is actually what is more important!
It is quite fascinating how the human mind works, it simply is the sole reason why a lot of things can simply not be rationalized. The concept of what makes sense or is valuable and what doesn't is ultimately "subjective" and this subjectiveness ultimately influences how select humans relate with things.
For example, there's this understanding that people exist that do not worship anything, that is, they neither believe in the existence of God or the devil so they worship none, they are often called atheist but you know what many do not realize?
Before I tell you what, if you look closely at these set of people, it isn't necessarily that they do not believe in the supernatural but that they do not wish to "serve" them so they lean towards what gives them a sense of comfort(value to their body), so in essence, they find in their disbelief, a new god.
The disbelief in the supernatural in-turn is a belief and faith in the knowledge that they don't exist, this is what they worship and worship is basically a form of acknowledgement.
Lol, am I preaching because of gold? It seems, analogical explanations, I believe, help convey deeper understanding of things.
That said, whilst atheist leverage on the narrative that "there's no scientific prove" that God or the devil exist whilst they funnily often read historical books of random things and immediately believe them but not the Bible, how one perceive value isn't backed by math, science isn't needed for a human to arrive at loving something, it's a flow of emotions from inside that can be influenced by what is seen, heard, felt or thought of, not necessarily math, so in essence, "Belief and faith are the first forms of value" and they are entirely choices made subjectively.
Why is the governmental system so strong? Its because people believe and have faith in the system, why is that misogynist on the Internet so powerful despite being a dick? because people believe and have faith in him, and what of that loud feminist that won't let you see a day of sunshine without crying foul even where there's none, because people believe and have faith in her, the followings of worshipers who have perceived value there keep the fire burning, it is nature, not math.
This is the same thing with precious metals like gold, and silver and with currencies like fiat and crypto
Everything in life is either based on speculation(gamble) or acknowledgement of value(faith and belief).
I often see people try to use numbers to try to ascertain if crypto will replace fiat or stocks but that happening won't be based on math. Sure, bitcoin has the pretty numbers climb and fall circles that analyst use all the time to try to make predictions, I'll tell you what, nature will always trick you to believe the universe is run by what we perceived as math or science, but no, the reality is that in language which is understanding is how great things are built.
When a group of people speak a common language, they build and grow in understanding, what do they build? When looking at the physical things, it could be houses and whatever, but foundationally, the first set of things they build is belief and faith in each other.
The eyes meet a precious metal like gold and silver, it immediately believes it is valuable, is that math?
If that is math, what is the standard deviation of why people find gold more valuable than silver?
Here's an interesting content on standard deviation applied in psychology
Psychology and other social sciences often involve describing and generalizing about large data sets, and particularly large populations of people. It is quite routine to contrast the lifespan of men versus that of women, to conduct surveys and focus groups on various topics, to discuss the average salary or level of job satisfaction in one profession or another, and so on. In cases like these, it is common to represent a diverse range of outcomes by a single average value. In statistical terminology, averages measure the central tendency of a data set: the location around which observed values are found.

What do you notice in the quote above? I feel the need to point out that I finished writing this article and went to do some research just to include this part.
If you look closely, the content quoted above proves our point that these things are not based on math, math funny enough relies on human expressions to arrive at anything of value. Take note, the content points us to the fact that these math are attempted to be solved by looking at a large set of data from large populations, why ? Because in the "common views" is the value the mathematician is trying to solve for.
There's this series I am currently watching called "The Foundation" and in this movie, a mathematician claims to be able to predict the future, only that he can't predict individual actions but that of people in groups, how come? That's because he wasn't predicting the future but simply reassessing the past and he found certain connections in how humans do things, in essence, how faith and belief moves people.
Back to precious metals
This perception of gold being more valuable to silver is common to many, so the belief and faith in these things being valuable is what has kept them so, even before the industry began to use them to build one thing or the other, you think the average individual knows precious metals are used to build certain components of a device? Think again, but every human on earth would see these precious metals and immediately know they are valuable.
The government understood this, and this is why fiat is literally a currency "backed by faith".
So yes, in essence, bitcoin can replace the USD if enough people happen to believe in it, the BRICS currency can do the same, but one should know that math will not be what causes that to happen, it will be the shift in belief and faith and that can come in many ways.
So if you want change, preach it to the understanding of people so that they'd shift their beliefs and faith accordingly.
