Presidency 101: The top 2 issues I’d address first

Imagine you became the president of your country; what are the first two struggles of the citizens that you will tackle first?

My country is so blessed and it’s known as the giant of Africa but this beautiful and gorgeous giant has been really dwarfed by bad leadership. For a country that’s so rich in mineral resources and natural gas and oil. One of the largest crude reserve in Africa if not in the world.

Yet the menace of bad leadership has turned the country and its citizens into poverty. The money owed by the country alone is of enough to sell the citizens into slavery yet these leaders don’t care so much. They come during campaigns and make endless promises which they have no intentions of fulfilling.

If I were to be the president of my country there are different areas which are lacking which I would focus on and they include the agricultural sector to ensure availability of food, the employment sector to ensure good paying jobs to citizens, infrastructures such as good road, good hospitals schools and etc but amongst all these, the two major area I would focus on is the good or agriculture sector and the next would be the employment sector.

The reason I would focus on Agriculture as the first areas is to ensure that there is adequate supply of food in the country for both local consumption and export. There is a saying that a hungry man is an angry man.

Most Nigerians are living below the poverty line and can barely provide food to eat for themselves. If the agriculture sector is up and running, there would be adequate food for the citizens. These food items would be cheap and result affordable for the citizens.

The menace of too much importation of food would be reduced as there are good local alternatives and then these agricultural products would also be exported to different country thereby increase the gross national profit of the country.

Food is the first basic necessity of man’s need and citizens deserve to have food at a very affordable price u like what is obtainable right now. Large scale farming and industrial agriculture would be the order of the day and in that way, the issue of food scarcity would be taken care of.

The next thing I would focus on is to tackle lack of employment for the citizens. Every year millions of young people are churned out from the different higher institutions and are being poured into the labour market where there are no job opportunities.

These people become tired and turned to miscreants in the society after several failed attempts at job hunting. This is one of the worst experiences of young and old graduates. I would ensure to establish industries that would serve as places to absorb the graduates and provide job opportunities for the citizens while ensuring that salaries are paid on time.

Handing the challenges of food supply and lack of employment opportunities which is part of the major things that plagues the citizens of my Country is sure a good place to start in amending the rot my country have found herself in if I were to be the president of my country.
