My simple work hacks for a productive day

Our day to day work to a great extent is what makes us to what we are able to achieve over a long time. That’s why it’s good to ensure we have a trick or a habit that makes our day to day work smoother. As someone who works from home and doesn’t go to the office or as someone who doesn’t have a regular job if I am to say that even though I am looking forward to one as a means to build more financial power, I have learnt that there is something I do which is like a work hack for me to be able to achieve anything for the day.

When you are not accountable to anyone, thats when you would probably understand what I am driving at. People who work in the offices are accountable to people and they may be punished or queried if they didn’t come to work or meet up to their target in the office but who will punish you or query you when you are a freelancer and probably accountable to only yourself, well, maybe hunger or sapa or family expectations and pressure, outside that, you are on your own.

This mindset is enough to let me know that if I don’t do anything for myself, I’d probably be wasting alot of time which is a precious resource we all have and the much you are able to do has a lot to do with what you have been able to achieve with your time. So one of the things that helps me a lot to make my day to day work easier is first of all a mindset shift like I have touched above.

I have noticed that in the days when I put my focus on achieving some keys things in the day, I am able to summon the energy and the morale to push and be able to achieve those things unlike the day when I awake to not knowing what I want to do with my time and day. Most times, these mind shifts starts from the previous night. Before I sleep, I am resolute and I determine what I want in my mind. With that type of mindset made up, I awake ready to work and take the bull by the horn the next with no supervision.

Another work hack that has helped me so much in my day to day work would be me having to draft out a todo list day by day on my phone note pad. I have also noticed that when I draft out a todo list, it’s helps to give me focus and that energy to start and embark on my day to day work. The days when I do not have a clear to do list, always have me wondering from pillar to post and I end up seeing that the day has just gone and I have nothing to show for it. But when I put down my todo lists and follow it up, at the end of the day, I am able to tick out the ones I have been able to achieve and in that way, I am able to be productive in the day.

Just like today, I have my todo list and to make this post is one of the things that I said I was going to do. When I am done with this, I tick it done and then move over to the next. Another things that also helps me to remind me of somethings that have become an integral part of my everyday work is that I set my alarm to remind me of some things I need to do. These things are part of my everyday and the alarm rings round the clock and then I go ahead to do them. In that way, I am also able to do these things even when they are not in my todo list. These alarms are all labeled so as not to be confused on why the alarm is ringing in the first place.

These are some of the simple work hack that I use daily and it’s been of great value to me to be able to maintain a productive day under minimal supervision.

You see those two hacks; writing down your to do list and setting alarms for whatever you want to do work like mad. They make you achieve a productive day even as a person who works from home and in that way, even if you aren’t accountable to anyone, you are, to yourself. Most importantly, it’s important to have a resolute and what you need to achieve for the day and it helps a lot.

I think to do lists are something people really underrate because there’s always this sense of fulfillment when you look at your list after a long day and realise you ticked all of them off.
