Shoprite Onitsha Mall, a paradise in Anambra State - My first visit

Greetings to all my beloved hive friends, today I again conveyed myself to the city of Onitsha in Anambra State but instead of visiting religious centers like I used to, I decided to pay a visit to the largest most popular shopping mall in the area. I didn't know the exact location of the mall so I left home early and after I dropped off from the vehicle that conveyed me to the area, I settled the driver and then asked for directions to locate the exact place I was heading to. Onitsha is a big city in Anambra State, Nigeria. It didn't take me long to locate the shopping mall but I went some distance on foot.
The big shopping mall in Onitsha by name Shoprite is a South African establishment which is located close to all saints cathedral road, though a less busy road than the one I came from. I also later realized that there is an estate not too far from the shopping mall.

While on the road walking straight up along the fence of the establishment to locate the entrance gate, I was first mesmerized by how big the Shoprite compound looks from the outside. Their fence was too low so I could see inside the compound while walking. I could see flowering plants very close to the fence on the other side, I was also able to see the large parking lot from the outside, then a large building that looked endless. One really interesting thing is that unlike some other shopping complex in other areas I've visited both outside the compound and inside the compound of the shopping complex is clean, not even a piece of nylon or water proof of bubble gum or sweets can be seen on the ground.

The flag of the shopping mall can be seen by the side of the low fence. I finally located the entrance gate and I got a big relief at last after walking a long way through the fence. The first part of the building that I clearly saw was the portion of the building which has Onitsha mall boldly installed on its outer part. As I stepped into the compound, the feeling was great. I said to myself at last I'm finally in this place that I've heard so much about.
I was so happy. I started walking straight to the mall and sometimes intentionally changed directions a little bit in order to have a better view of what caught my interest in the environment. The parking lot section still remained one of the cleanest I've seen so far. There are many entrances to the shopping mall and when I finally got to one, I greeted the young lady I saw in a security uniform. She also looked cheerful and welcomed me.

Usually I love making those who seem to be less noticed in each organization I pay a visit know they are important as well and not invisible. After greeting her I went further down through the walkway inside the shopping mall, I saw some people who were seated at the center of the different round chairs that looks unbelievably quite big at the center of the walkway, so I went and sat down on one of the empty spaces because there was a lot I had to digest with my eyes and I didn't want to make it obvious to all the people in the mall that I had just visited the big mall for the first time. I spent a little time observing around, I saw a lot of beautiful products both foreign and local and their beautiful artwork was on display. At first I was self conscious of not taking pictures on the inside which might be against their policy, I know I could do that in other business establishments I've visited, I also knew there are places where taking of photographs are restricted and I've once been advised not to take any photos in one establishment.

So I thought it wise to ask one of the security personnel at first she thought I wanted to take pictures of us both, she laughed and said I want to put her in trouble but when I understood what she meant I explained better then she told me I'm free to take pictures of myself and the products but I shouldn't do video recording because it is prohibited. I was happy to have made this inquiry, thanked her and left her duty post.
I made sure I went round the big shopping mall, I visited almost all the sectors of the establishment except some areas which I personally decided to leave out in my exploration as I considered those areas to be restricted from customers but only permits workers.

There were CCTV cameras everywhere and I didn't want to appear as a spy who is only taking pictures instead of someone who came shopping or worse be misunderstood for taking pictures of people. While inside the mall I remembered I had little children who I left behind at home and will soon return to meet so I decided to spend some money on some foreign looking snacks though it was costly but I had to buy it for the children, I also bought some things which I will give to my mum and sister.

Inside the mall I saw sections for video games, barbing, movies, wines of all kinds and brand, clothes, fruits, toys, footwear, wedding gowns, flowers, perfumes, chandeliers, different phones and accessories, some good looking perishable foodstuffs, softdrinks, snacks, kitchen utensils, different energy drinks, meats, cakes, oil, noodles, flour, electronics, beverages, balloons and lots more.

Their chicken is more delicious than most I've tasted to be honest because it is well seasoned but it goes with a high price though it's worth it but you know customers always love quality goods sold to them at a good discount price and customers are always right as some say.
I really enjoyed my visit to Shoprite Onitsha mall today and I went home even happier than I went knowing I'll put smiles on the faces of those whom I left behind at home also.
