Adele was known for albums with titles based from her age during production. It started with her first album "19" which had initial success in UK. The album was known for its blue eyed soul sound, and also made her a part of the phenomenon with other British female soul singers.

"19" was led by the song "Hometown Glory". It puts Adele at number 19 in UK Singles Chart then, while it became a platinum single.

Adele has released the song "Chasing Pavements" which sounds more of mainstream compared to its predecessor. The song became a hit as it peaked at number 2 in UK Singles Chart, where it became a double platinum record. It also became her first Billboard Hot 100 entry reaching number 21, and was certified platinum.

"Cold Shoulder", a trip hop track, was released as the third single off "19". The single was only a modest hit though, and it charted at number 18 in UK, where it became a Silver Record.

The final single has been the Bob Dylan original "Make You Feel My Love". The ballad version was actually acclaimed then. It charted at number 11 in US Digital Song Sales, and certified Gold. It became a number 4 hit in UK Singles Chart, and certified 4x platinum.

"19" has sold quite good initially, but it began to pick up more sales at the height of her second album "21". With initial peak at number 11 in the US, it eventually reached number 4 during the success of "21". It was also certified 3x platinum in the country. It became a number 1 album in her homeland UK, and was certified 8x platinum.
