The aftermath of a mistake//LOH week 245

Hearing certain words after making a mistake and feeling judged and attacked in the deepest part of our being, what do you think of this phrase: "I told you so?" Would you also say it to someone else?

We all make mistakes,I mean nobody is perfect but the most annoying thing is if we were told before not to do something and we thought we knew better and end up doing that thing,If the end game of it turns out wrong,then the phrase "I told you so" comes handy.

This leads me to a certain situation during the festive season where everyone gathers and shares gifts or foods,so that particular day my mum told me to cook for ten people but I was skeptical about that,I didn't want the food to waste ,I told my mum that we won't have too much of visitors because we usually don't,I went ahead and cooked for five instead,after that visitors and family started coming in and that was how the food the prepared wasn't enough to serve everyone,I had to go another round in preparing another food,I was so exhausted that day and my mum ended up using the phrase "I told you so". I was really not happy because I didn't listened to her in the first place which made me to work more by preparing another meal.

Another one was when I was going for holiday,we were given two weeks break at school,so I just picked few clothes and two clothes for the two Sundays,my friends told me to pick more clothes because we never can tell if our break will be extended but I didn't listen not because I didn't think our break would be extended but because I didn't want to carry too much load,I only want to carry one small bag,but guess what? Our break was extended by a month and I had to repeat clothes especially for Sunday where I brought just two dresses,I was ashamed and even before my friend could say "I told you so",I already told myself "they told me so".

So I definitely do tell people too, because whenever I tell you not to do something and you end up doing it,if turns out bad,I will definitely tell you "I told you so". That phrase resonates well with my friend,when he bought a new phone I told him to transfer everything on the old phone to the new phone since there are a lot of useful and important documents on the old phone,the old phone wasn't really good again,so before it ends up getting spoilt he should transfer all files to the new phone,He didn't listen to me,he said his old phone won't get spoilt,I tried to convince him countless times,he didn't yield but the worst happened,his old phone got spoilt,it was definitely a mess,he was shattered,I pitied him but I had to use the phrase "I told you so",he was angry at me but he knew I was right. So I would say it hurts more when it's said to us but that is just humans,we make mistakes and we bear whatever comes out of it.
