The Final Day of Malikussaleh University's 37th Graduation: Full of Meaning and Sweet Memories

Malikussaleh University (Unimal) concluded its 37th graduation ceremony on Monday, October 20, 2025, with a lively and memorable closing ceremony.
The event took place at the Tgk. Abdul Wahab Dahlawy Auditorium on the Reuleut campus in North Aceh on Monday, October 20, 2025. The event was attended by the academic community, families of the graduates, and other invited guests. From 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB), the event proceeded smoothly, with an atmosphere both emotional and joyful.
For three days, Unimal held a graduation ceremony that combined formal elements and entertainment.
The third day concluded with 610 graduates, 172 of whom earned cum laude honors (with honors), comprising 26 men and 146 women.
Although the program followed the same schedule each day, each graduation ceremony felt unique thanks to the various artistic performances and special remarks.
In his remarks, the Rector of Malikussaleh University, Prof. Dr. Herman Fithra ASEAN Eng., delivered an inspiring message to the graduates. He emphasized the importance of gratitude and appreciation for parents who have tirelessly supported their children's education.
"Be grateful, because only about 4.78 percent of Indonesians have the opportunity to earn a degree. This means you are part of a small group fortunate enough to receive higher education. Never forget to thank your parents who have sacrificed day and night for your success," said Prof. Herman.
The final day's event culminated in a lively reception with the Rector of Unimal and the Head of the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT). Teuku Kemal Fasya, S.Ag., M.Hum., the Head of Language, Public Relations, and Publishing, performed the popular song "Don't Cry" by Guns and Roses.
The song created a warm and together atmosphere, with graduates and guests singing along and enjoying the moment.
This moment was not only a celebration, but also a touching one, marking the graduates' brilliant achievements as a tribute to their educational journey.
As the graduation ceremony concluded, the graduates took home not only their diplomas and academic degrees, but also fond memories and a renewed enthusiasm to begin their journeys in the professional world.
High hopes rested on them to continue developing the knowledge they had gained at Unimal and applying it for the advancement of the nation.
The entire academic community and invited guests sent off the graduates with great emotion and pride. This event marks a new chapter in the lives of Unimal graduates, who are ready to face challenges in the world of work and contribute to society.[]
