The Faculty of Economics and Business, Teuku Umar University (FEB UTU), Aceh Barat, Indonesia, held an Open Senate Meeting for the Graduation Ceremony for the Even Batch of Undergraduates for the 2025/2026 Academic Year in the campus hall on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
A total of 68 students were officially inaugurated as new graduates ready to contribute to regional development.
In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Dr. Hamdi Harmen, stated that four students had earned cum laude honors with an average study period of 4.6 years and an average GPA of 3.61. As of this period, the number of alumni of the 21st batch of FEB UTU has reached 1,740.
"Higher education is a long-term investment to produce superior human resources. UTU remains steadfast in its vision of developing the Agro and Marine sector in the Southwest Aceh region to optimize the potential of local resources sustainably," said Hamdi.
Dr. Hamdi detailed the distribution of graduates across the three main study programs at UTU's Faculty of Economics and Business. Thirty-one students are from the Management Study Program, while 25 are from the Accounting Study Program. The remaining 12 are graduates who successfully completed their studies in the Development Economics Study Program.
The first graduation ceremony of 2026 was solemn and emotional. The presence of parents added to the emotional atmosphere as they witnessed their sons and daughters completing their higher education. Tears of joy filled the room as a token of gratitude for the long struggle to realize their dreams for a better quality of life.
The Chair of the 22nd Undergraduate Graduation Committee, Teuku Adelansyah, S.E., expressed his highest appreciation to the entire committee for their hard work in making this event a success.
"Thank God, the event went smoothly and successfully. We hope the graduates can become new fuel to ignite the fires of development within the community," said Adelansyah.
In closing, the faculty advised the graduates to be ready to face the challenges of the dynamic working world. Quoting an old adage, Dr. Hamdi reminded them that, "Tough sailors don't train in calm seas."
The new graduates are scheduled to participate in the university's graduation ceremony on Saturday, February 14, 2026.[]
