Thrift Store or Spend More?

Heya~ It has been while since I wrote something here. For today's blog, let me share my day when we went to a thrift store.

It was nothing special. The school days have officially started this week. Supposedly, we would be having our first day of class but the Instructor didn't show up. Since we were at the metro, I accompanied the girls, @chaeline.gaile, @itsmefria and @giznxc.zelle at the thrift store to look for a beach blazer and a top. This place is where often go so we could save some money than spending it on some department stores.

I tagged along with the girls because they know where to go best than me. If it were me, I'll just buy whichever thrift store I could see first or at the closest department store. They are well-informed of the sale promotions and quite skillful in negotiating with the prices. I could never do that, I'll buy the clothes whatever the price listed on the tag.

They lead me here at the store situated at the back of the Plaza Mart building beside a fast food chain that's under construction at the moment. The place is haven for these thrifty fashionistas. Although the clothes are assorted and not organized on the rack, they are very patient on checking the items one by one.

If you just know how to patiently look on each racks, you might find something good here. Thrifted clothes are used branded items, which means they are good quality items. The other items are only slightly damaged but if you know how to restore those, maybe you could hit a jackpot.

In here, they don't only have clothes, but also stuffed toys, bags, blankets, towels and shoes. As my friends checked more items on the rack, I have found some good ones, too. I decided to save money for now but since they're having a promo of any 4 items for Php 100 only, I grabbed it.

My friend @chaeline.gaile was the one who found this cute mint green mini-skirt and gave it to me since it is my size. Then, I looked a top that could be a pair for it. I immediately found one, it's a gray top. I was contented already with that pair but @giznxc.zelle handed me a denim jeans for kids and suggested that it would fit my daughter's size. It's in a good condition and affordable, so I grabbed that one, too. I thought of pairing it with a cute top. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a better pair for the jeans.

I bought 3 items, and since @chaeline.gaile is buying a pink short, we combined the items on the counter, so we could still pay for that 4 items for 100 promo. The other girls found what they're looking for and added a hand bag with their purchase. She said she'll use it for school.

Our purpose there was to save money but we ended up spending more at the store because they're having a sale and we found some valuable items. Our impulsive buyer selves couldn't resist the temptations well. The next stop was at SM City Mall for window shopping and to cool down because it's very hot outside. We're sweating buckets before we could pay for those items. When we arrived at the mall, we wrapped it up with a refreshing Sago't Gulam drink. Going out of the house means spending more really whatever the errand is.
