Medical Mission: A Service With A Compassion To The Masses
This company is blesed for a reason. They have the kindest and most sincere hearts to serve the masses beyond the reach of popularity and true service. They are the definition of quality, integrity, and accuracy in every information, services, and products they rendered to the public.
I once witnessed it when I entered the compound premises of this company. During my stay here, I have learned how they value charity foundations for scholarships, outreach programs, and medical missions. The company also cares for their employees by providing them incentives aside from their based salaries, bonuses, and talent fees. As what I've heard from one of their employees, they're the only broadcasting company in the region that gives out the biggest compensation. Everywhere in the region, they're the most preferred station and their products are trusted, then that's why they have often the best ratings among their competitors.
Last week, I had the honor again to be a part of their mission. They had conducted a free medical mission in an underpriviliged barangays in the city. This place was also prone to floods during heavy rains.
In collaboration with the Barangay's Health Center, they have offered free checkup, medicine, hair cut, massage, and feeding program to underweight children or even to people who were hungry from waiting. Aside from that, they also offered free reading glasses after the checkups.
Before they could proceed to the checkups, they have to go through us first for screening and vital signs taking. Initially, I was assigned at the registration but there were too many of them doing the work, so I opted to help on tasks that's understaffed. And here, they only have one person assigned. I asked the Barangay Health Worker that I can help, and she gladly lend a spot for me.
We were taking down their names, age, birthdates, height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, and pulse rate. Then, after that, we referred them to go next to have Blood Sugar test at the next table. They gave out 200 coupons for those who would be prioritize in the checkups, and others who didn't receive can wait after them if they can be accommodated. People flocks to the area as soon as they received the news of this mission, so even after we have catered the one with the coupons, there were still lots of them who was in queue waiting to be accomodated.
Accomodating wasn't the problem there since the team was willing to lend their time to help these number of people. There problem was the limited stock of supplies they have on hand. Later on, the broadcasters announced that they couldn't gurantee to accomodate al of those who didn't have a coupon. If they're willing to wait, accomodations will continue until the supplies last.
But even if the Blood Sugar test kits were out of stock at the next table, some people still approached me to have their Blood Pressure taken. In my entire career as Rescuer, this is my first time to take 180/140 BP and that's just too high! I was surprised and hesistant to tell the truth. I'm considering the effect of the new to their well-being. So, I took a background check first before saying in a comforting tone. Most of them have maintenance medications already and that's why it was too high, but considering their old age, it's often hard to take in a bad news.
I've experienced another fulfilling mission in my life —to render a true public service. I'm elated to be back on the service after quite a long break for I have to focus on my studies first, and I'm also thankful for my Accounting Manager for giving me the opportunity to have a voluntary service with compassion to the people.

They are so cool ah, it's that's their mission, this is a great initiative not just to one but to the masses. Sana ipagpatuloy lang nila ang ganitong gawain (✯ᴗ✯)
