Coffee Stalls and Food Carts at the Old Aiport's Runway
This old runway here in Bacolod was a solace for the public. It's a place where everyone can do their thing without any limitations and prohibitions from any authorities. Though it's a few kilometers away from the residences and the main road, people still flocks here every morning and afternoon to exercise, sightseeing, eat and have a cup of coffee. It attracts businesses and some recreational activities, too. From a single breakfast eatery, then came another and a shooting range activity, after them, a lot of stalls and cart tried their luck here every afternoon to offer different kinds of snacks and beverages to the people.
During rest days, we're coming here for a walk and watch the sunset. Then, we'll have coffee and snacks as we stay. At this time, there's no sunset because it has been raining recently. The skies have only calmed down when we walked here, it was still gloomy.
Even on a bad weather, people are coming and the vendors as well. The usual place that we're having coffee during mornings are crowded. We looked for another coffee stall instead. Good thing, they also have set up a few tables where people can stay and wait for the food and beverage as they prepare it. Since this is an old airport's runway, you wouldn't find any other sheds here aside form these vendors.
I just woke before going here, so I wanted something that could make me feel alive. As usual, a Vietnamese latte could suffice but the Dirty Matcha was tempting me, too. For me to try both, the Le Patata bought the two flavors. Then, he went to the next stall to buy street foods for our snacks.
I asked him to buy Kwek-kwek (boiled egg in a breading) and Dynamite (friedlong green pepper filled with cheese and ground pork inside wrapped with a lumpia wrapper), kinda craving those. And of course, it's not gonna be all my wishes but also the one he likes, so he bought nacho fries for himself. There's also a pizza here displayed at the back of a Van. The owner even have a small oven to reheat the Pizza and setup few tables in front.
As we wait, rain showers for a while. Thankfully, I brought an umbrella with me because the stall's umbrella from the coffee vendor can't accommodate us. It has stopped after a few minutes anyway, so we stayed there for a little longer.
It's nice to eat here and have coffee while watching the sunset. Though there wasn't much chance at the time, we still patiently hoped for it, so our experience would be worth it. As we have our snack here, the dogs were also patiently asking for treats beside me. It's two of them, so I gave each of them some of my fries. The other one went away after taking the food but this one isn't contented.
From time to time, he was tapping me with his paws to get my attention for food, so I gave him another one. He wouldn't leave me, though. We were amused by how smart he is to get people's attention. So we tried to ignore him, to see what happens. He is still tapping me every minute. The next tap he made contact with me was with claws with irritated my skin. He really was persistent.

These are what we've got here.
People were even saying not to give him food everytime because he was a bit spoiled. We transferred to another table instead. Then, that smart dog moved to the next customers.
Finally, shades of light were breaking the gloomy skies. I suppose that was the sunset if the weather was fine. We stayed until we finish the food and the coffee, then walked back home. This is one of our few walks when we have time, at least, there's a breath of fresh air.
Anyway, thank you so much for your support and have a great day!
Coffee by the sea? Yes, please!
