Christmas Party and Training at Alcala Beach Resort

December is the official month for Christmas, and this ony means parties here and everywhere for the entire month. May it be as a family reunion, year-end party at the workplace, with oir circle of friends or at school, it seems like December wouldn't be as it is if parties aren't there. With that said, our Responders' team at school also organized a party, but with a twist. It comes with a life skill training —water search and rescue training.

Since we need to do it on water, beach resorts were the top options. It's the most accessible and affordable place for everyone. Also, since it comes with a party, it should have a function hall where we could gather to feast and setup our festy activities for the day.

The best place that they found suitable for this event was Alcala Beach Resort. It is located on the shoreline of Barangay Punta Taytay, Bacolod City. It is just one of the series of resorts on the shoreline of Bacolod, but this one captured our attention for its amenities unlike the others.

When I was dropped at the entrance, I only paid Php 20 for the entrance and the function hall was shouldered by our generous Commander. The food and drinks was brought by the batches that joined the party. As for the pool, each of them who needs to train and wants to swim paid for themselves.

As for me, my presence is enough since they said that I didn't need to bring anything and I was only ask to come, so I did. I wasn't in a mood to swim either since I have work later that night. I want to reserve my energy on more important things. I guess this is really how adulting looks like.

When our important guests have all arrived, the program immediately started. They were introduced to the new batch on training, instructions have been cleared and then their training started after.

The depth of the pool is only 5ft, but since most of them didn't know how to swim, they were taught with basics of swimming first before going to their training proper. They encircles the pool and stood in their position looking tough but actually really nervous. It very heartwarming to see such determination to learn. They worked so hard to face their fears.

While they were practicing on the pool, I got bored by just standing on the corner to keep an eye on them and documenting the entire training. I went out for a bit and looked for a good spot to a play mobile game since they were about to complete the training anyway.

Unfortunately, the place didn't have a decent reception. In the end, I went on AFK mode, left the game and went back to the training.

After few minutes, they were finished and finally we could eat and party. Even before the training started, the other students were already singing on the Karaoke Machine. They did really rent a Karaoke for this day and that is one thing that wouldn't ever be missing in a Filipino party. So the singing session continues while everybody was munching and chatting with the other teammates that they haven't seen for a while. Well, most of us have gone inactive due to school projects and they missed us.

The other stayed until the end but I already left after lunch since I still need to rest for that night's shift. What a life! XD
