Banana Chips And Peanuts On A Market Day
So I got some goods on a cloudy day at one of the Market Day of Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod City. I'm not fond of dawdling in such areas since the flock of people can knock you down if you don't watch out carefully. But this dear friend of mine saw a stall selling peanuts, chips, and candies from afar. It's kind of funny because we both have Astigmatism, yet, hers is farsightedness and mine is nearsightedness. So she is my eyes from afar, I am her eyes in a nearby scope.
And so, I have another #MarketFriday entry for @dswigle to see... This is absolutely a very late post, but better later than never, right? It was sleeping on my phone's gallery and since it's Friday, I think I can use them to share it here...
Back to the market day...
This stall were separated from the horde of vendors from the nearby market. It was situated at least two blocks away from the buzzing of customers, to and fro, of every shops and temporary stalls to buy what they needed. Instead, this stall placed themselves in front of the Fire Station and since it is a Market Day of their locale, they were allowed.
They haven't finished displaying all their products yet as we visit, but it doesn't matter because we already know what we wanted.
They were selling Banana Chips (sliced and crumbs), peanuts, chicharon, macapuno and tamarind candies, pop rice, and a lot of local snacks that I didn't know the name but I know it's good.
Market Day is popular among places especially at the rural areas since they only have a day scheduled in a week and people are familiar with it. Like what we have in my hometown, residents would come to the metro in that particular day because there will be vendors that only sells such products on that very day, and they only have a half a day limit, then they will pack all their belongings and move on to another place.
They are selling everything here aside from snacks, vegetables, fishes, and meats. They also have affordable housewares like kitchen knives, kitchen wares, cauldrons, dish racks, wood cabinets, second-hand goods like pre-loved clothes, shoes, and bags, then sometimes you can also see them selling colored chicks and birds. In my family, they often go here mostly to buy working tools for the farm like shovel, cutting tools, and for sharpening. They claimed that the products on a Market day are more durable and better in quality than the malls and hard wares can offer. That's why they often look forward for the market day every week.
And here goes my Banana Chips and Peanuts!
I have something to munch on back at home while watching my favorite dramas and reading my books on a rainy night since I still have time for myself because classes aren't back yet. Banana chips are good, it's our favorite snack aside from boiled peanuts. Sometimes if we can have an unripe Banana, we were making it and selling them per pack too. In here, they are selling it for 5 pesos per pack or $0.09. It is very affordable, so I bought a lot and spent 60 pesos for them all.
Then, I was like a happy kid with a candy while walking away from the stall...

I miss those snacks and sweets by looking at your photos. And it's cheaper compared to my province. No wonder flock of people coming there during market day❤️
Yes, it is very affordable during Market day but on regular days, the prices were doubled.
