A Well Spent Weekend At The Farm

Hello, hivers!

I woke up again from a deep slumber of laziness and decided to start writing today. Honestly, I wasn't that busy these past few days but my thoughts was occupied mostly by the DICT Assessment which we are required to take at school and couldn't focus on other things anymore. It doesn't even matter if I fail on it or if I don't take it seriously at all since it's not a part of my academics, but only for compliance, I should at least exert some effort to study, so I could answer few items on the test.

It's been a few days since I took it and now I've cleared some space on my head to think of something else. But you know, if you started slacking off from work, it's very difficult to come back. So, I took a detour by playing mobile games and watching some Chinese dramas to relax more.

Now, I'm here. I was revitalized and I've got time to check on my hive account and read blogs. And for today, lemme share what I did during the long weekend before the Lenten season came.

I got two days off from my regular shift, then I swapped my Sunday shift to Friday from a co-worker so that I could have a long weekend at home. I was having a hard time chasing the metrics score to keep my performance good at work. It has been a frustrating and exhausting March, so when things got settled down, I have much yearned for this kind of rest.

Although our home was very far from the capital of barangay and it's very tiring to walk, it's totally worth it. Being there is peaceful, you don't need to hear the bustles of the city and the noisy nagging irate customers or neighbors, only the birds chirping on the trees and the farm animals around. For some time, it's also a luxury to be away from all the pressure of responsibilities for a while.

I went there straight off from work and I didn't have any sleep yet. When I got home, it was already noon time and immediately fell asleep. But my peaceful sleep got cut off by my niece, she excitedly gave me pineapples and came shouting my name. A sweet little angel, but that gave me headaches, though. 😆

On the next day, I spent my morning exploring parts of the farm checking up mostly on how well our rice grows. They're doing well actually but we haven't planted lots of vegetables in this season since my fathers have arthritis and my mother is often busy accompanying my baby girl to school.

While I'm walking around, I have a company, my baby girl. She was showing me around like I was a tourist here at home. She was giving me warnings where to step safely on the muddy roads or I might slip. She's very thoughtful for this, I'm melting like I'm in love hearing her like that.

However, she got easily bored and went back home to play with her cousin instead. I guess I'm really getting old really and my likes aren't for kids or teens anymore. I'm not for that generation now. 😄 Anyway, I got to sleep without getting interrupted after that and my body clock didn't work during that time, so I have slept well at night even if I have been sleeping mostly during the day. Maybe, it was because of the peaceful environment, I get a chance to rest as long as I want.

Particularly, this weekend is well-spent because I get to rest properly. That's all for this blog, folks. Thanks a lot for stopping by! 🌷🌷🌷
