The holy month of Ramadan ~ Fasting

Hey everyone, My name is Ayami Haya and I am a student. The previous month was Ramadan and It is always the best month for me as a student and as a Muslim. Because I get to spend a nice vacation during the whole Ramadan month. Other than that Ramadan is the month of peace & the month of prayers and also the month of forgiveness. It is the month in which the 'Holy Quran was sent down from heaven to the earth as a guidance for the human beings and as a declaration of direction. In Ramadan month we Muslims fast from early morning till dusk by obeying our almighty.

Every Muslims do this fasting everyday during Ramadan month for forgiveness and to make our almighty happy by obeying his orders. All the Muslims prefer to read quran, pray Namaz and does other works which we believe that it makes our almighty happy. By doing such things we are earning a ton of good deeds and if we ask for forgiveness in our prayers during Ramadan then it is said that Allah grants our prayers and forgives us. So, we do pray and ask for forgiveness for all of the bad things we have done in the previous time which is mostly done willingly or unwillingly. That is why I have kept all of my fasting and never broke a single one during this holy month (Ramadan) but I could not keep on fasting during menstruation. It’s not allowed to fast while you are on your period it is suggested for the girls to take rest and eat properly during this time.

I prayed 5 times of faraz Namaz and I prayed tarawee every day. Tarawee is only prayed during this holy month. So I have prayed Tarawee Namaz everyday. I asked for forgiveness and for the well being for my family and friends and also for the people of other countries who are in sufferings. The Ramadan month started on 11th March and ended on 10th April and the first Roza(Fast) was also in 11th march. I ate rice and chicken curry on the first Sehri. Then after having my sehri I waited for Fazr prayer. Then After praying the fazr I slept and woke up at 12:47 PM. After waking up I took a bath and after talking the bath I saw it was already Duhur time. So my mom and I prayed the Duhur prayer together and then at 5 PM I prayed Asr prayer.

Right after the Asr prayer my mom and I started preparing our Iftar. My mom asked me to go the supermarket and buy some groceries and fruits for iftar, So I bought different kinds of fruits and I also bought Somosa,Rice Puffs, Jalebi etc. Then after coming back I help my mom on her work in the kitchen. She made many tasty foods to make "Muri Bhorta" (It's something we like to have in Ramadan) like Alur chop, Beguni, Ghumni, Piyaju, Specially Dates and many other types of junk foods.

Then me and my mom started placing all of the foods on the dining table. Then right before 20 minutes of iftar time my dad came home and then after taking a bath he joined us and we prayed for forgiveness to our almighty. We broke our first fast with dates. Then we ate the rest of the foods. After having iftar we prayed our Maghrib prayer. Then my mom and I started cleaning the dishes. After that we sat together and talked for sometime. After that it was time to start my prayers and I started praying Isha and then Tarawee and by the time I finished it already past 10 o clock. After praying I talked and played some online videos games with my friend. I played almost like 2 hours with them and then I started reading the Holy Quran and finished the first part as it's divied into 30 parts and it was done before sehri.

I spend most of the days in Ramadan like this and get reading the Holy Quran finished twice. When it was 20th Ramadan my cousins and other relatives came to our house and we had iftar together. It was the best day for me in this Ramadan. Then the next day my parents and I went for Eid shopping. I am always excited when it's about shopping so I was very much happy that day. I bought pairs of shoe and some of my favourite dresses which I saw online. My mom and dad and bought their clothes and shoes on the same day. The total cost of my eid shopping was 29K Taka. It's a bit too much but I hope to repay my parents with my own money someday.

Few days ago I went to an event which was organised by Pubg Mobile where we are donating foods to the needy ones. There are packets of rice and cow meat and many vegetables in a sack. I was invited as a guest to help the needy ones out. It was a great day and a great event everyone looked very happy.

On the night before Eid day my cousins and I helped eachother to design henna on our hands. Actually I have designed mine by my own no one helped me. Then I applied henna on others hand and it was looking so good everyone appreciated. Me and my cousins we are going to hang out tomorrow on Eid day. I hope to get eidi from my relatives and my parents too, so I am very happy. Special foods will be cooked on Eid and I want to eat various kinds tasty food which are cooked by my mom.

Overall, the month was great and very special for me. The whole Ramadan month taught me many things and helped me to connect and get close to the almighty. So, it was a peaceful month for all of us. I pray and hope that everyone gets showered with blessing and everyone gets forgiven by the grace of almighty. Hopefully we all will get to spend another peaceful month like this on the next year.
