Hi everyone,

I'm Damilola Adeyemo, a focused and resilient 33-year-old, passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of those around me. As a registered nurse, midwife, and public health nurse I've dedicated my life to helping others and that is what gives me a sense of purpose in life.
I am a family oriented person, friendly, i easily relate with people's stories as well. Basically my actions and beliefs are all geered by the love ❤️ i have for people around me.

This passion was what led to the birth of a foundation (Beyond Health Foundation) which I am privileged to have co-founded in the year 2018. It has teyed sha 🥰 we thank God for growth. The major inspiration behind the start of the foundation was when I was working in the North (Jigawa State) in the year 2016. As at the time the state was experiencing a massive rise in the rate of maternal and fetal deaths (both mother and baby), it was breaking me so much to see women suffer and eventually die just because they don't have enough funds to seek health care. A typical story was a client I had in one of the rural areas who eventually passed away after labouring for 4 days at home because she didn't have the money to come to the clinic, she relied solely on her husband who had travelled to Lagos to hustle. At the time he didn't send money for upkeep, the mother in-law refused to help either saying "they don't attend hospitals in their lineage". Long story short, she passed with the baby 💔. That kept me wondering 🤔 would she had died if she had funds to take herself to the clinic? Would she had died if she had skills she was practicing that would have earned her few natural? Would she have died if she had help earlier? Then the idea to start partnering with skilled workers who would help train these women on hands-on-skills that can help them save up popped up, i discussed with my husband, we conducted several researches and boom 💥 💥 BHF was birthed. And thank God we have been doing well, we have expanded to Abuja. Beyond Health is where we strive to improve lives in our community.

I am a great communicator, a very good listener and most times a shoulder to cry on. People finds talking to me easy, they confide in me a lot. I also have the ability to keep secrets, and connect with people's feelings.

When I'm not working, you can find me partying, watching movies, singing or playing musical instruments like the drums, bass guitar, or keyboard. Music has always been a safe haven for me, because I'm most person's confidant I hardly get to express my feelings too. So most times I run to the confines of music and express myself freely. Music is indeed my comfort zone.

I want to expand my skills by diversifying into tech and crypto and possibly earn while at it. My mentor Mr Adeniran Oshin introduced me to Hive and linked me up with @emrysjobber through whose link I eventually joined. I love connecting with like-minded individuals and learning from their experiences.

I'm excited to join this platform and share my thoughts, ideas, and experiences with you all. I'm looking forward to connecting, learning, and growing together.
